Xperia Z3 Compact leaks in beautiful press photos

With a little  more of a day left until its great unveiling, the Xperia Z3 Compact leaked in what appears to be a set of press shoots.

The images reveal a design that – as we all expected – is not a major departure from the aspect of the Xperia Z1 Compact, released in January. The colors of the device, however, are new – well at least the teak and orange versions are new, apparently replacing the purple and yellow that Sony has been using over the past year in its mobile lineup.

The images themselves don’t reveal any new details about the Z3 Compact, but Ausdroid, the site who leaked them, claims to have received information on that front as well.

We’re looking at a 4.6-inch display of 720p resolution, a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, a 2,600 mAh battery and a 20.7MP camera. These specs are very similar to those of the Xperia Z3 (and the Z2, for the matter), and that’s a great thing – we haven’t really got true high-end Android devices in smaller form factors, and it’s good to see Sony continuing on the path it opened with the Z1 Compact.

The Xperia Z3 Compact will launch tomorrow at a Sony pre-IFA press conference, alongside the Xperia Z3, the Xperia E3 (a new budget device), and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, a thin 8-inch slate that piqued our interest the most so far.
