These two Samsung phones just got Dex for PC support

Samsung Dex is one of the most underrated features of Samsung’s flagship hardware. Capable of turning your smartphone into a desktop replacement with a single cable has long been the dream, and Samsung has been constantly plugging away at it to make it even more functional. Recently, the company announced that you will no longer need a separate monitor and keyboard set up to enable the desktop environment.

Instead, you can now connect your phone to your laptop to enable the same desktop environment. In addition to using all your favorite Android apps and games on a large screen, Dex for PC also enables drag and drop access to files between the computer and the phone. Unfortunately, this was so far restricted to the Galaxy Note 10 line up. Now, Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users can get in on the action.

Following the Android 10 update, the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users can enjoy the same large screen Android app experience by connecting the phone to a Windows machine or a Mac. The companion app for your computer is available over at the company’s website.

I find Dex to be a great alternative to apps like BlueStacks to play Android-only games on the big screen since it lets me continue my progress on the go and at home. Additionally, it works remarkably well as a thin client for basic productivity tasks in the browser. What do you use Dex for? Let us know in the comments section.
