The best Huawei P30 and P30 Pro accessories

The just-announced Huawei P30 and P30 Pro may be the best ever smartphones from the China-based company. However, your experience with these phones may be even better if you purchase some great extras to go with them. Here are the best  Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro accessories you can buy for these two new handsets.

Huawei Watch GT Active Edtion and Elegant Edition

Huawei Watch GT Active Edition

The current smartwatch from Huawei is the Huawei Watch GT, which was first announced a few months ago. However, at the same time as Huawei announced its new phones, it also revealed new versions of its Huawei Watch GT, both of which would be excellent accessories for the P30 and P30 Pro. The first is the Huawei Watch GT Active Edition, which has the same 46mm size as the standard version but will have a different bezel design (black with orange accents). It will also have a new triathlon mode out of the box that supports swimming, cycling, and running activities. It’s price will be 249 euros (~$281).

Huawei Watch GT Elegant Edition

The other new model is the Huawei Watch GT Elegant Edition. This version is meant for smaller wrists, at 42mm, with a ceramic bezel. More importantly, the battery life for this phone is one week, versus the much longer two weeks of battery life in the standard Huawei Watch GT and its Active Edition. The Elegant Edition will be priced at 229 euros (~$258). There’s no word on when either one of these new Huawei P30 and P30 Pro accessories will be released.

Huawei FreeLace and FreeBuds Lite

The earbuds can connect directly to the Huawei P30 Pro for on-the-go charging.

While the Huawei P30 has a headphone jack, the Huawei P30 Pro does not. However, that isn’t stopping Huawei from introducing not one but two new wireless earbuds as P30 and P430 Pro accessories. One is the Huawei FreeLace, which the company says will offer  18 hours of playback on a single battery charge. The earbuds have a USB-C connector, which means you can charge them with either the P30 or P30 Pro’s charging port.

The Huawei FreeLace will also offer four hours of playback with just five minutes of charging, according to the company. They have an IPX5 rating for water, which means they should be fine for wearing while you go on a run or are in a gym. The earbuds will come in a variety of colors, including Amber Sunrise (shown above), Graphite Black, Emerald Green and Moonlight silver. They will go on sale at the same time as the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro for 99 euros (~$112).

Huawei also announced FreeBuds Lite, a new version of their earlier FreeBuds true wireless earbuds, during the P30 and P30 Pro press event. Not much is known yet about the FreeBuds Lite, other than they are supposed to last up to 12 hours on a single charge. will come in black and white colors, and will have an IPX4 water resistance rating. Pricing will be 119 euros (~$134) but there’s no word on when they will be released.

Huawei 12,000 40W SuperCharge Power Bank

While the Huawei P30 has a 3,650mAh battery, and the P30 Pro has a 4,200mAh battery, there may become a time where your phone is out of energy, and there’s no power outlet available. Thankfully, the company also has its own portable batteries, and its newest such product, the Huawei 12,000 40W SuperCharge Power Bank, will be an especially helpful accessory for owners of the P30 Pro.

Why? Because this power bank supports the 40W fast charging feature of the P30 Pro. That means that if you have this portable battery on you, and you connect it to the P30 Pro, it should charge at up to 70 percent capacity in just 30 minutes. You can also charge up the standard P30 with this portable battery, but it will take a bit longer, as its most powerful charging speed is just 25W. It will be priced at 99 euros (~$112) when it is released later this year.

Huawei Smart Eyewear

Perhaps the biggest surprise during the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro press event was the reveal of Huawei Smart Eyewear. Developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster, they will have dual microphones so you can make calls and answer calls if you own a Huawei P30 phone. This accessory will also support AI noise reduction, NFC-based wireless charging, and will have a high IP67 water and dust resistance rating.

While Huawei has labeled this accessory as “smart glasses”, at the moment these just appear to be regular glasses with some Bluetooth-based wireless audio features for taking calls on your P30 phone. Unless Huawei has decided to not reveal all of the features yet, this may not be a huge accessory for the phone. They will be released in July but there’s no word on what the price will be for these glasses.
