Square’s runner game Mini Ninjas is out on Google Play for “free”

We know Square Enix mostly for its engaging RPG titles, but the game developer is eager to break out of its comfort zone as it unleashes Mini Ninjas on Google Play.

Before you get too excited, bear in mind that this is not the same Mini Ninjas that’s being released on consoles. At its heart, the Android version is a runner game that features the characters and story from Mini Ninjas. That being said – it still looks like a heap of fun.

Your objective is to retrieve a stolen artifact from the enemy, which means you’ll have to run, jump, and slash your way through the game – though there will be plenty of ninja tricks to perform as well.

There are four characters to play, each with their unique set of skills. They are:

  • Hiro — Use iconic Ninja moves with wall runs and master the powerful Kuji Magic
  • Suzume — Use your magic flute to attract collectibles or to attack enemies
  • Kunoichi — Use your staff to perform massive attacking jumps
  • Futo — Use your massive hammer to destroy rocks everything around you

While Ninja Minis can be downloaded for free, it’s really just a demo. You’ll have to make an in-app purchase to unlock the full game, one that’ll set you back about $2.5. Hit the Google Play link below if you’re interested.
