Withings has been focused on analog hybrid smartwatches for a few years now, but today it’s getting back into the fitness tracker game. The Withings Pulse HR is the company’s new fitness tracker, a follow-up to the Withings Pulse from 2013.
The Pulse HR’s $130 price tag puts it head-to-head with other fitness trackers like the Fitbit Charge 3 and Garmin Vivosmart 4. At least under the hood, the Withings device seems to keep up with the competition. It comes with a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor, which will measure your heart rate in 10-minute intervals throughout the day and continuously during activities. You can also track your activities with GPS if you don’t mind taking your phone with you when you go out for a run.

The Pulse HR also has a 5ATM water resistance rating, the ability to track up to 30 different activities, automatic activity recognition, and 20-day battery life. That beats the pants off the Charge 3 and Vivosmart 4’s seven-day battery life.
