Sony Xperia Z1S announced, T-Mobile variant of the Xperia Z1

Previously there were reports that the miniature version of the Sony Xperia Z1 would arrive under the name Xperia Z1s. As it turns out, the mini Z1 is debuting under the name Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. As for Xperia Z1s, this phone is actually a T-Mobile exclusive.

The Xperia Z1s is essentially the same as the standard Xperia Z1, though it changes the aesthetics a little and features T-Mobile compatible 4G LTE support. Other specs include a 2.2Ghz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, water/dust resistance and all the connectivity features you’d expect with the Z1.

It is worth noting that the Z1S will feature a few new preloaded apps and features, including a camera feature that will automatically defocus the background of your shots. The Z1S will also include a special PS4 app that will allow you to use the Z1S as a controller for the PS4.

The Sony Xperia Z1s will be avaliable online starting next Monday, and should hit T-Mobile stores by January 22nd. The handset will set consumers back $22 per month for 24 months — a total investment of $528. What do you think, anyone planning on picking this one up or not?
