Sony CP-F1L and CP-F2L portable chargers to go on sale in Europe soon
Remember the good ol’ times when you didn’t need to worry about your phone’s battery life every day and you only had to charge it like once every week? Ah, good, good times, but also rudimentary times if you think of what we were using mobile phones for back in the day.
Now a smartphone is much more than just a basic portable device for calling and texting people, though on the flipside you need to plug it in once every eight or ten hours of use, which is basically every day. But what do you do if you don’t have access to a power supply so often?
Do you buy a second phone? You could, but it’s much easier and cheaper to just use a portable USB charger. Like Sony’s newly introduced CP-F1L and CP-F2L. These are basically “battery banks” and, aside from being very useful and functional, they’re also elegant and stylish.
The CP-F1L has a 3,500 mAh battery capacity with a 1.5 A output, while the CP-F2L doubles the capacity to a whopping 7,000 mAh and uses a 2.1 A output. Both are very thin (9.4 and 12.9 mm) and also light (125 and 198 grams) and you can use either of them to charge two devices at once.
You simply need to connect the charger to your device with a USB cable and you’re ready to go and see your phone live through another day. Of course, the chargers themselves have to be charged once in a while, either via their supplied AC adaptors or by plugging them in to a PC.
If their hefty capacities and very stylish bodies don’t impress you that much, you should also know that the portable chargers can retain up to 80% of their capacities after a full year and can be used for up to 500 charging cycles. Now that’s impressive!
Already released in India and Japan, the CP-F1L and CP-F2L are set to go on sale in Europe in “mid-December”, though prices are still unknown. Based on what Sony is charging in Asia, we can speculate they’ll become available across the Old Continent for around $50 and $80 respectively. Not bad, not bad at all.
