Nothing hints at its first product with Concept 1

TL;DR

  • Nothing has teased what looks like true wireless earbuds.
  • The product is called the Concept 1.

Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced his new company called Nothing earlier this year. But short of knowing that the firm will announce audio products, we don’t know much else about its wares.

Now, the company has announced the Concept 1, and it still hasn’t actually told us what this product is. Based on the picture it posted though (seen above), it looks like true wireless earbuds are on the cards.

The company reiterated that its mid to long-term goal was to offer “just barely noticeable technology” with no screens or dedicated devices. “In the near to mid-term, we have to start with existing product categories and interpret them through our lens,” it explained.

Nothing noted that the Concept 1 was “a first expression of our design principles,” showing a transparent design. Furthermore, the team explained that the design was inspired by “a grandmother’s tobacco pipe.”

The company didn’t reveal anything else about this new product or whether it’ll even be a commercially available device. It did reiterate that its first products would be coming in summer though. But hopefully we see fewer teases and more concrete information between now and then.
