Motorola slider for Sprint leaked, could it be the Photon Q 4G LTE?
We’ve been telling you for a long time how much we’d love to see a smartphone with a full-sized slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a dual-core S4 or quad-core proc, and Android 4.0 ICS, but, much to our desperation, nobody seems to be listening to our desires.
Or nobody seemed to be listening, because we’ve just picked up a leak on a mysterious Motorola handheld that could well fit the bill. The phone, if real, will be surely hitting Sprint soon enough, but other than that and the fact that it will come with a 5-row QWERTY keyboard, we can’t say nothing for sure right now.
Codenamed the Photon Q 4G LTE, the phone was thought to be coming with a 720p HD display, LTE connectivity (duh!), Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor this summer. These are all rumors, though, and are not to be taken very seriously for now. Also, we can’t know for sure if the Photon Q 4G LTE is the same device as the one spotted online right now or if anyone of the two are ever coming our way, so for the time being we should concentrate on the parts of the two reports that are the most believable.
Today’s pic, while very blurry, doesn’t seem trick to us, so it’s safe to assume that Motorola has some sort of a slider smartphone in testing. Secondly, the Sprint Music app can be seen on the device’s screen, so it’s pretty clear that Sprint will be the carrier to pick up this mysterious phone and not Verizon, who’s been offering several sliders recently.
Thirdly and lastly, we have to notice that the screen (who’ll probably measure around 4.3-inches in diagonal), has no physical buttons attached to it, which should come as great news for all those of you who love the “pure Google experience” offered by devices like the Galaxy Nexus.
