Motorola explains how to get another shot at a $350 Moto X today
One of the most attractive promos this Cyber Monday was the $150 price cut on the Moto X that Motorola first announced last week. Unfortunately, the Google-owned company misjudged the demand for the deal, and the customer onslaught brought Moto Maker to a standstill throughout the day.
Motorola apologized and offered to make it up with two more days of sales, explaining in a blog post how it plans to manage demand this time around.
The new promo starts today at 12PM EST, in a little over two hours. Motorola replaced direct sales with a reservation system, so you will have to register for a promo code that you can later use to take $150 off the price of an unlocked Moto X, customizable through Moto Maker.
The registration begins at noon and will stay open while supplies allocated for today last. After you receive your promo code through email, you have one week to order your Moto X, after which the promo expires. Enter the code at checkout to cut $150 of your price.
With the promo code, you’ll be able to get the 16GB Moto X for $349.99 or the 32GB model for $399.99.
If you can’t order today, you have another chance on Monday, December 9, when Motorola will make a new batch of devices available.
To drive the point home, Motorola is also throwing in a 30 percent off promo on select accessories, including cases, headphones, and more. Just use the promo code “THANKS” to apply the deal, valid through Monday, December 9.
Update: That didn’t take long. Motorola is now out of codes for today but don’t worry, you’ll have your chance again next Monday!
