Microsoft adding SwiftKey support to Windows 10 devices in tablet mode
It looks like SwiftKey is finally about to make its debut on a Microsoft platform very soon. The popular virtual keyboard, which was purchased by Microsoft in early 2016, has started showing up for Windows 10 beta testers in the latest preview build.
SwiftKey now appears as the default keyboard when using a Windows 10 device in tablet mode for users running the “Redstone 5” update (Build 17692). The keyboard is currently available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish languages.

Judging by a GIF released by Microsoft (below), the AI-powered keyboard seemingly has an identical feature set on Windows when compared with the existing Android and iOS apps, with the keyboard’s defining swipe-to-type and word prediction features all intact.
There’s no word on when SwiftKey — or any of the other new Windows 10 features announced — will enjoy a wider rollout, but it’s now highly unlikely that it won’t be released as part of a public build in the coming weeks or months.
Microsoft acquired the London-based company in February 2016 for a reported sum of $250 million. Despite initial worries that the app would be pulled from the Google Play Store, SwiftKey has remained a popular alternative keyboard for many Android users.
