Korean Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 HD Android 4.0 updates now available
Although they are currently two of the most popular and powerful Android-based smartphones, Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 HD are yet to get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich in many countries all over the world.
Sammy has been making huge efforts to bring Android 4.0 updates in a timely fashion in the most important markets worldwide for the two devices, but until now they’ve completely neglected their homeland, South Korea.
However, Korean tech enthusiasts should now rejoice, as Samsung has announced the releases of ICS updates for the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S2 HD. The original S2 and the S2 LTE have themselves been updated recently, so practically all current high-end devices from Samsung now run Android 4.0, right on time to welcome tomorrow’s high-tech star, the Galaxy S3.
The Galaxy S2 HD update is available on Kies 2.0 and can be downloaded right away. The new software package will bring you a bunch of cool new features and functions, like Face Unlock or Android Beam, but also a redesigned and more functional user interface and significantly improved performance.

As for the Galaxy Note’s upgrade, this isn’t a conventional Android 4.0 ROM, but the special “Premium Suite” package. This will also come with Face Unlock, Android Beam, a new and improved user interface and added performance, but in addition to all that, there will be a couple of special apps taking advantage of the Note’s S Pen as well.

You should also know that both Android 4.0 upgrades have been made available for all Galaxy Note and S2 HD Korean versions, so no matter what network you’re on, you should be able to take your device to the next software level in a matter of minutes.
The Galaxy Note and most of the S2 versions available in the US, including the HD LTE, are still waiting to be (officially) updated to ICS and, while we have no news to report on that front, the phones’ upgrades in Korea should be good news.
Sammy is still reluctant to announce any official dates for you American tech enthusiasts waiting to have a big scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich, but we will let you know when we find out anything worth your while.
