Humble Bundle app update rolling out - major UI overhaul, can now download audio and ebooks

In addition to the overhaul, which includes better organized categories and a cleaner pull-out left hand menu, is the ability to handle both eBooks and audio. Now, if you’ve never purchased one of Humble Bundle’s Android bundles, of which there are now six, or any other bundle containing Android apps, ebooks or audio, then this app is not for you.

The new Humble Bundle app layout has left hand menu quick access to ‘All Android Games’, ‘Ready to Play’ and ‘Game Updates.’ Audio and eBooks also get their own menu entries. Possibly the most convenient left hand entry is the Downloads section. At quick glance you can view all media that you have downloaded to device, simply long press the icon beside an item to delete it.

I have been helping Beta test this app update and I have just one piece of advice – before you download any eBooks, head into settings and change up the default download location from your Music folder to something more appropriate, like, I don’t know, Downloads. Of course, I am very particular about the file structure on my devices, there is no real harm in leaving things as they are, if you like living on the edge like that.

Performance has been great and the background sync has not caused any noticeable battery drain. Item counts in the left menu can be a little slow to update sometimes, but do not fret, your favorite games, soundtracks and eBooks will be there when you need them.

How many Humble Bundle users out there have been craving an Android app update?

(Update: Humble Mobile Bundle 6 ends on August 19th, not August 14th. Woohoo! Extra time to get in on the games.)
