Heads Up! You can have Android L's new floating notifications now

There are a great many things that Google introduced at Google I/O this past week, chief of which for many is related to Android L and the new Material design. One fancy feature that Android L will be bringing us is newly designed notifications. The notification will float near the top of the screen, and pops up over top of any application, even if in full screen immersive mode.

As is the case with any feature in Android, if it doesn’t come stock, a developer makes it happen as a third party app or module. This was the case with a Xposed module and other root only tools. Until now. Heads Up! does not require root and is ready to install on your Android 4.3+ device today.

Heads Up! has a simple set of powerful settings. You can configure how long to display the notification, whether to ignore persistent notifications, open associated app with a double click and lock it to only show notifications when in fullscreen mode.

In addition to the above settings, Heads Up! allows you to specify a whitelist of apps that you desire to use the floating notification tool. This can be great for hiding those Secret notifications and bringing forward those work emails, or whatever your situation dictates.

I know you are a fan of getting tomorrow’s tech today, is the floating notification a feature you are eager to get your hands on?
