Nest Thermostat E

A solid alternative to the Nest Learning Thermostat is the more budget-friendly Nest Thermostat E. The plastic frame (versus metal) is a clear hint you’re in some cheaper territory, but the Nest Thermostat E retains a lot of what we’ve come to expect from a higher end smart thermostat. It doesn’t have the remote sensing or many of the HVAC components you’ll find in the Learning Thermostat, but it also doesn’t have the price tag. Buy it for $169 today.

Honeywell Lyric T5 Plus Thermostat

The Lyric T5 Plus is a new version of the standard Honeywell Lyric T5 device. Using its smartphone app, owners can program the thermostat up to seven days in advance. It can even use your phone for geofencing technology to know when you leave or arrive at home and offers indoor air quality reporting. The Lyric T5 Plus is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. It’s also one of the cheapest on this list of best thermostats, with a price point of just $106.

Emerson Sensi Touch thermostat

The Emerson Sensi range of thermostats all have an old-school look to them, but the Sensi Touch geta a modern twist with its HD color touchscreen. It helps you save on your energy bill with various features like 7-day advanced scheduling, geofencing, remote access, and energy usage reports. It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and Wink smart home systems. The Emerson Sensi Touch thermostat is priced at around $135.
