Another set of Pixel 6 renders leak showing off huge camera hump

TL;DR

  • Yet another set of Google Pixel 6 series renders have leaked.
  • More noticeably, side-on shots showcase just how large the phones’ camera bump is.
  • Google will launch both devices on October 19.

Thanks to the plethora of leaked images and Google’s teaser shots, you’re probably used to the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro’s design. However, a new set of renders highlights one particular feature of the flagship duo — the rear camera hump.

Up until now, we haven’t seen too many side-on shots of the phones, but the latest render drop from tipster Evan Blass changes this. The new images demonstrate just how substantial the Pixel 6 series’ camera bar really is. The standard Pixel 6 is arguably more guilty of this. Side-on shots showcase a camera hump that’s nearly as thick as the phone itself. It’s a little less noticeable on the Pixel 6 Pro, though, even in the Cloudy White colorway. You can compare the two phones’ side profiles below.

Pixel 6 camera hump: Love it or hate it?

It’s worth noting that while the bump is unsightly, its full horizontal width design does have its benefits. For one, it’s likely the Pixel 6 series won’t suffer from wobbles when placed on a flat surface like other phones. Alternatively, this design could also make it difficult to slip in and out of a tight pocket.

Notably, the Pixel 6 series’ camera design probably won’t be of concern if the hardware is up to scratch. Several leaks suggest we can expect a 50MP primary shooter to feature on the Pixel 6 Pro alongside a 48MP telephoto and 12MP ultra-wide shooter.
