announced, to hit Europe and Asia in Q3

ZTE made quite an impression back at the MWC in February, when it introduced a bunch of uber-cool gadgets, including a quad-core smartphone for the budget-conscious and a quad-core tablet duo. Unfortunately, none of those devices have been put up for sale and a large part of the interest surrounding the ZTE gadgets has been shattered to pieces due to all this waiting.

And if you’re all fed up with waiting for the Era, ZTE has just… given us a new reason to wait. The Grand X LTE, codenamed T82, is the first single-chip LTE handset in the world ( at least according to official claims), and will hit Europe and Asia Pacific in the third quarter of 2012.

Exact details about the phone’s pricing and availability are still kept under wraps, but, at least at a first glance, the Grand X LTE looks like a more than decent handheld. Powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 (aka Snapdragon S4 “Krait”) processor, ZTE’s new phone comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera supporting 1080p HD video, a front-facing camera, Android 4.0 ICS, and a 1,900 mAh battery.

The rest of the tech specs and features are unknown at the time, so we can’t say for sure if the Grand X LTE has a shot at becoming popular. It’s pretty safe to assume that the phone will come with 1 GB of RAM, but the display diagonal and resolution, as well as the internal memory, are very important details that could make or break the device.

As far as design goes, we’re obviously excited about the lack of physical buttons below the screen, but the Grand X LTE looks a bit too “robust” for our tastes in the first few official pics.

Do you believe in the ZTE Grand X LTE’s future success? What would be a fair price to ask for the handheld? And finally, would you like to see the phone hitting the US after Europe and Asia? Let us know your opinions below.
