Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 begins

Samsung has finally started rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to the popular mid-ranger Galaxy Ace 2. The update is rolling out in phases and owners can expect it very soon. To see if you’ve received the update, navigate to your phone settings or connect your device to a PC and run Samsung Kies.

Here are the official firmware details:

  • Android Version: 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
  • PDA: I8160XXMC8
  • CSC: I8160TMNMC3
  • MODEM: I8160XXMC8
  • Build Date: 26 March 2013
  • Changelist: 1016990

This latest update brings a bevvy of improvements to the Ace 2, and should breath some new life in a rather quaint device. Highlights of the update include Google Now and Samsung’s Nature UI overlay, which you might be familiar with from the Galaxy S3.

The Galaxy Ace 2 update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean was first leaked back in February. If you can’t wait for the OTA to get your update, you can get the Jelly Bean firmware by following the source link below.
