Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean running on Samsung Galaxy Ace 2

It seems that Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 owners have been waiting a lifetime to see anything other than Android 2.3 Gingerbread on their device. Last September, Samsung said that the phone will skip Ice Cream Sandwich and go straight to Jelly Bean, which is great and all, but the problem is that the update is still nowhere to be seen close to half a year later.

If you’re wondering if Samsung is still planning to upgrade the Galaxy Ace 2, here’s some screenshots of the handset running Jelly Bean – albeit the pre-release build. They’re not much, but hopefully the screenshots can help assure you that the update is still coming.

The Jelly Bean rollout date for the Galaxy Ace 2 hasn’t been specified by Sammy, but it might come sometime in March or April. Other low- to mid-range phones that will get Android 4.1 include the Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Mini 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Chat, and possibly more.

Can’t wait to say goodbye to Gingerbread? Looking forward to Jelly Bean? Sound off in the comments below.
