First introduced at CES as the Projector Hotspot, the ZTE-made LivePro is a crazy contraption that, Sprint hopes, is more than the sum of its parts. And boy, there are a lot of parts to talk about.

Sprint describes the LivePro as a “easily pocketable multiuse mini projector and mobile hotspot” and hopes to sell it to professionals who need an all-in-one tool for presentations on the go.

Starting with the projecting feature, the 4.7 x 4.7 inches unit features a digital light projector capable of outputting a maximum resolution of 1,920×1,080 at up to 100 lumens, for an up to 10 feet image. The DLP can project in 4:3 or 16:9 and features a contrast rate of 1,000 to 1. The LivePro features built-in speakers, microUSB and an HDMI ports, and a 3.5 mm jack for plugging in headphones or speakers, as well as Miracast support.

Powering the LivePro (and any device attached to it via microUSB) is a 5,000 mAh battery unit. There’s a 4-inch screen and a dual-core processor that allows the gizmo to run Android 4.2, with full access to the Play Store.

Of course, for Sprint the biggest feature of the LivePro is the “3G/4G LTE mobile hotspot capability supporting up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.” You will need a special plan, of course: “Sprint mobile broadband data plans for LivePro start at $34.99 per month for 3GB of combined 3G/4G data while on the Sprint network. Customers can choose the $49.99 plan with 6GB of combined 3G/4G data or $79.99 plan with 12GB of 3G/4G data. (All pricing excludes taxes and surcharges.)”

Measuring 4.7 inches x 4.7 inches and only 1.1 inches thick, Sprint LivePro easily fits in a briefcase or purse and features an embedded speaker providing audio during video or presentations.For bigger sound, separate speakers can be paired via Bluetooth® or attached to the device with a 3.5mm jack.
