Google removes Uber integration in Maps with no explanation

TL;DR Since January 2017, you could book an Uber ride right in the Google Maps app. The feature has now been removed with no explanation from either Google or Uber. Going forward, to book an Uber ride, you will have to use the Uber app. Previously, you could look up a route for a ride-sharing trip and compare pricing from various services, including Uber. Google Voice voicemail transcriptions are now 49 percent more accurate

If you’ve ever used Google Voice in the past, you’d know that the handy voicemail transcription feature can prove to be not-so-handy at times. In fact, much of the time voicemail transcriptions turn out to be hilariously incorrect. Google knows this, which is why it started asking users about a year ago to send in voicemails to the company for research and system improvement purposes. Huawei's AI Cube isn't just an Alexa smart speaker, it's a 4G LTE router too

TL;DR Huawei has revealed the AI Cube smart speaker. The Google Home and Amazon Echo rival has built-in Amazon Alexa and can be used as a 4G LTE router. The AI Cube was unveiled at IFA 2018 — pricing and exact availability have yet to be confirmed. Huawei is jumping headfirst into the smart speaker market with the Huawei AI Cube, announced today at IFA 2018. Unlike the Google Home, Amazon Echo, and other leading smart speakers, the AI Cube — which, let’s face it, is quite clearly a cylinder and not a cube — is being marketed as a “two-in-one speaker” which, in addition to packing in Amazon’s Alexa AI for voice commands, can also double up as a 4G LTE router.

Leaker says all Galaxy S22 models will have glass backs

TL;DR The base Samsung Galaxy S22 will have a glass back, according to a leaker. This claim comes after the vanilla S21 was the only S21 model to have a plastic back. One of the more controversial tweaks for Samsung in recent years was the introduction of a “glasstic” back on some flagship phones, being plastic that’s meant to feel like glass. On the one hand, the material should survive a drop better than glass.

LG Optimus G from Sprint Review! [video]

Think about the last time that you used a phone by LG. While the Korean phone manufacturer has certainly been able to stay afloat within at least the mid-range smartphone market with typically forgettable offerings, memories of great Android devices currently end up with the likes of the Motorola RAZR, the HTC One X, or the current top dog, the Samsung Galaxy S3. At least for me, thinking “LG” often leads me to remember the Chocolate, a very popular phone from a bygone era well before the onset of Android, iOS, and even touchscreens.
