Samsung has started mass production on 12Gb LPDDR5 mobile DRAM chips, the company has announced. At a demonstration in China, a team of hackers working with Tencent used an unorthodox method to unlock a stranger’s smartphone (via South China Morning Post). The team was able to trick the smartphone fingerprint sensor using a legitimate fingerprint lifted from a glass of water. The team demonstrated this hack on stage during a hacking event, using its method to unlock three smartphones and two attendance machines equipped with fingerprint sensors.

While Spotify has allowed mobile users to accessmusic free for a while now, doing so means you have to put up with the same audio ads as free users on the desktop. Earlier today Twitter released an update for its app across Android and iOS for both phones and tablets. Although everything looks pretty much the same, there are a few slight changes. Most notably, the “My Profile” Page has been altered to include background images and ‘photo streams’.
