here's what you need to know

It’s no secret the tablet market isn’t what it used to be. It’s hard to get excited about a tablet in 2018, but Google hopes to change that with its newly announced Google Pixel Slate. The Google Pixel Slate is a Chrome OS-powered tablet that is also capable of transforming into a laptop using a keyboard dock. Essentially this is Google’s take on the Microsoft Surface. The design is functional, though far from game-changing There’s really only so many ways to design a tablet, and so there’s nothing particularly innovative to be seen here in terms of design.

HTC 10 in Camellia Red primed for purchase in Japan

The phone is set for release on Japan’s smallest major mobile service provider, KDDI au, sometime in mid-June, and while pricing has not been set, it will probably retail for around 90,000 yen, or roughly $810. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which launched a few weeks ago, is even more expensive. Phones in Japan are typically much more costly than they are overseas, something that was covered with last year’s bizarre Nexus situation that saw the mid-range 5X retail for more than the premium 6P.

LG Poland thought the V60 was great for upskirt shots in now-deleted video

We’ve seen our fair share of sketchy promotional videos from smartphone manufacturers, and it looks like an LG division is the latest to shoot itself in the foot. LG Poland recently posted a video on TikTok (h/t: PhoneArena), showing an elderly man apparently taking upskirt photos of a woman walking up stairs. The woman then turns around and grabs the LG V60 being used by the man, scrolling through the gallery app on the second screen.

TMONews puts out a possible theory as to this recent outage: “To me, this seems like a simple case of teething issues. Like I’ve already mentioned, there are always problems when networks are being upgraded. And you only have to read posts here from the past few weeks to know that VoLTE, 4G, and Wideband LTE are being activated in new locations at break-neck speeds.

Palm Pepito? New Palm device listing reveals possible name, more details

TL;DR TCL’s Palm-branded smartphone has appeared in several listings, suggesting that it might be a budget device. The device’s Bluetooth SIG listing also reveals the “Pepito” name, although we’re not sure if this is the final name. PenTile RG-BW LCD display on the new Note 10.1 consumes 30% less power

With its faux leather finish, the new Note 10.1 looks pretty smart on the outside, but its innards are just as intelligent. Among them is the 10.

What’s even more interesting is that the display is said to have a pixel density of 2,000 ppi.
