Much to the dismay of some of its customers, Verizon initially denied that it planned to carry the HTC One, suggesting that the Droid DNA would have to do for the moment. In early June, however, Big Red made a U-turn and announced that the aluminum masterpiece will finally grace its networks “later this summer”. We’re in the middle of the summer already, so surely the One should be close, right?

More third-party smart speakers can make phone calls now

One of the most intuitive reasons one would want to own smart speakers is to be able to place hands-free phone calls. With Google’s line of Google Home hardware, it’s easy enough to say “OK, Google, call dad,” and the smart speaker takes care of everything (assuming you live in the U.S., Canada, or the U.K.). However, there are a lot of third-party smart speakers out there with Google Assistant integration, and some of them can’t make phone calls.

OnePlus has announced free standard shipping on all orders exceeding $100 from oneplus.net. Priority shipping will also be offered at a reduced price. As the company notes in a blog post, “a change of this size will naturally have a negative impact on our bottom-line. OnePlus Store app hits Canada and the US ahead of OnePlus 9 launch

TL;DR OnePlus has launched its OnePlus Store app in North America. The app is a pocket version of the firm’s online store. A number of specials are available ahead of the OnePlus 9 series launch. We’re just days away from the OnePlus 9 series launch, so it makes sense that the company wants to give users an easy way to buy one. To this end, the firm has launched its OnePlus Store Android app in Canada and the US.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 leak introduce a new candy green colorway

The design of the earbuds and their case is slightly different from the Galaxy Buds Pro. Renders of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have appeared in a new leak courtesy of folks over at 91Mobiles. The images show that Samsung’s next true wireless earbuds will look a lot like the Galaxy Buds Pro, albeit with slightly tweaked aesthetics.

Samsung shares 6G vision: Holograms, 16K VR, more

TL;DR Samsung has published a white paper regarding 6G technology. It foresees user-experienced download speeds of 1Gbps and latency under ten milliseconds. Samsung thinks 6G networks could arrive as soon as 2028. 5G has launched in many markets, although there are still several major countries that have yet to receive the new connectivity standard. However, Samsung isn’t waiting around. Last year we heard the company was expanding its research into 6G and now it’s just published a white paper to discuss its vision for 6G connectivity.

Square-Enix bringing Final Fantasy 7 and FF13 to Android, via new streaming service

While Square-Enix has long offered many classic Square games on Android, including earlier Final Fantasy games, it looks like they’re about to bring many modern titles to our phones and tablets as well. Recently Square-Enix announced Dive In, a new streaming platform for Android and iOS. The new service will launch on October 9th in Japan with three titles: Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 13 and the Cherry Blossom Murders.Square-Enix will also add several new titles in the months to come such as FF8 and the Last Remnant in November, and FF 13-2, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 in December.
