The second-largest mobile OS in India rhymes with iOS, but isn't iOS

TL;DR Android remains the most popular mobile OS in India, though KaiOS occupies second place. KaiOS’ drastic increase in market share could be attributed to its numerous partnerships and increased demand for feature phones. iOS and Android might be the most popular mobile operating systems in the world, but do not tell that to India. Even though Android remains tops in India, relative newcomer KaiOS recently overtook iOS and became the number two operating system, reported The Economic Times.

WhatsApp could soon make exiting groups less awkward

TL;DR WhatsApp is working on a way to silently exit groups. Only the group admin and you will be notified when you leave a group. If you’re a WhatsApp user, you’ve most definitely found yourself added to groups you really don’t want to be a part of. Sometimes these groups are created by family members or friends, and you unwillingly stick around just because that would be less awkward than leaving the group and letting everyone know you didn’t want to be there in the first place.

Why ARM's 64-bit architecture is good for developers and users

The history of 64-bit computing is quite varied and interesting. Companies like Cray started using 64-bit registers in their systems in the mid-1970s, however pure 64-bit computing didn’t really come about until the 1990s. First came the R4000 from MIPS, and then the Alpha processor from DEC. By the mid-1990s Intel and Sun both had 64-bit designs, however the real turning point for consumers came in 2003 when AMD released a 64-bit PC processor that was compatible with Intel’s 32-bit x86 processors.

Face Unlock on Jelly Bean now checks if you’re a photo, asks you to blink

A year ago, Google introduced the Face Unlock feature on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is a novel and convenient way – when it works, anyway — to quickly unlock your Android phone after it recognizes your face, with security not being the main focus. The main criticism that is often leveled against the quirky Face Unlock is that flashing a still photo of the user when trying to unlock the phone can fool the system.
