Recently, I addressed industry changes promising to “fix” the smart home by the end of 2022, alleviating issues like overloaded Wi-Fi and fractured platform support. Those changes should make the technology more appealing to both veterans and newcomers, but for sales to go through the roof and adoption to be less stressful, there are arguably a number of other long-term improvements companies need to make.

Honor 30 Pro
Following the launch of the Honor 30s just a few weeks back, the company is back with three more phones to flesh out the flagship lineup.
The Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro Plus bring a laser focus on camera features as well as top-end internals. Additionally, the bold typography-driven design language certainly stands out. Talking about specs, the Honor 30 Pro and Pro Plus are powered by a Kirin 990 chipset that we’ve seen on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro as well.
Following a solid run in the high-end smartphone category with the likes of the Nexus 6P and Mate 8, Huawei made yet another splash with the launch of their latest flagship offering, the Huawei P9. Apart from flagship specifications and features, what makes the P9 stand out from the crowd is not only its unique dual camera setup, that includes a monochrome sensor, but also the name attached to it – the well-known German camera maker, Leica.
Android has truly become an authority in the mobile market. A powerful operating system that costs nothing to the manufacturer and brings unlimited options to the consumer is hard to beat, a fact that is confirmed by last quarter’s marketshare reports. Google’s mobile OS has reached another milestone during Q2 2014, during which the Mountain View giant shipped 85% of all smartphones!
This comes as great news to us Android aficionados, but the rest of the market is not very happy.

Offering users a smooth Android experience without breaking the bank, the Moto G (1st Gen.) quickly became one of Motorola’s best selling smartphones of all time. The 2013 model is still a completely capable smartphone, and right now, you can pick one up for an extremely cheap price point. Best Buy is currently selling the Verizon prepaid Motorola Moto G in Black for just $19.99.
It should be noted that since this is the Verizon version, the phone only comes with 3G connectivity, no LTE.

OnePlus just shared an official image of the unreleased OnePlus Nord CE. The phone looks a lot like the main OnePlus Nord from last year but will feature some pared-down specs. The company will officially launch the phone with all details on June 10. It is unlikely the phone is coming to the United States. Yesterday, OnePlus surprised us a bit by showing off its unreleased OnePlus Nord N200 smartphone.
OnePlus just announced it has joined forces with DxO to “enhance your photography experience” with the upcoming OnePlus 5.
DxO is the company behind DxOMark, which is a benchmark for camera and lens image quality measurements and ratings. With DxO’s help, OnePlus hopes it can step up its photography game with the upcoming flagship device. How exactly the two companies plan on doing this is anyone’s guess at this point, as the Chinese manufacturer did not share any specific info.
