Sprint to offer OnePlus 5G phone, could be OnePlus 7 Pro 5G

Update, August 27, 2019 (12:51PM EDT): The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is now available in select Sprint stores in 5G-supported markets. Online availability kicks off tomorrow, August 28, with a wider launch in non-5G areas taking place September 6. Stores currently selling the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G currently include those in California, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, and New York City. The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G costs $20 per month on Sprint’s Flex lease.

T-Mobile sued for fraud at Metro stores

Yesterday, the City of New York sued T-Mobile for engaging in fraudulent business practices at its Metro by T-Mobile New York Division stores. Ars Technica reported that the allegations are against Metro for routinely selling used phones as if they were new and charging customers for services they didn’t want or even ask for. The NYC government claims that Metro stores use abusive sales tactics on their costumers. Apparently, nearly 60 stores across NYC have sold preowned devices to consumers claiming they were new.

A fix for BlueBorne has been included in the September security update, which is currently going out to devices from Google and other manufacturers. The update patches four of the vulnerabilities reported by Armis Labs, including two that were deemed critical by Google (via 9to5Google). The patch has been made available to Android OEMs, but this is where Android’s biggest weakness becomes apparent once again.

Cabana is a new video chat app that lets you watch YouTube with friends
