A high-resolution shot of the Galaxy S4’s screen reveals the unique subpixel arrangement that Samsung used in order to achieve the 441ppi pixel density on an AMOLED display. In the months preceding the unveiling of the Galaxy S4, several rumors emerged about the display of the upcoming flagship. Samsung was said to have problems with the design and manufacturing of a full HD (1928 x 1080) AMOLED display. One report even said that the Korean smartphone maker was considering using LCD for the Galaxy S4, due to the supposed insurmountable technical difficulties that would prevent it from making enough panels for the upcoming blockbuster.

According to 9to5Google‘s APK teardown of the Google TV launcher version 1.0.4233, there’s evidence of three new features in the works.

It was a sad day when I had to get rid of my Samsung Galaxy S5. We’ve all gotta upgrade sometime, but I still miss it. Okay I guess it didn’t look as good as later models, but I loved the replaceable battery. If I was heading out for the day it was always handy to have a spare on hand. This battery pack is thinner than your smartphone, and yet the 15,000mAh capacity is enough to charge your device 8 times over (hence the name).

TL;DR OnePlus officially revealed some images and specs of the OnePlus Nord CE 2. The phone lacks the OnePlus alert slider and borrows some design elements of Oppo phones. OnePlus also confirmed battery, charging, and storage specs. The first thing you’ll notice is it lacks the traditional OnePlus hardware alert slider. Obviously, this feature did not appear on the original OnePlus Nord CE either (the “CE” stands for “Core Edition”).

TL;DR A new leak appears to have revealed color options for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The 9 Pro would come in green, while the 9 would come in blue and purple. There are no antenna bands on the regular 9, but it’s not clear what material OnePlus is using. There’s less and less mystery to the OnePlus 9 series every day, but that isn’t stopping a flurry of leaks ahead of its March 23 debut.

In November of last year Samsung kicked off a newfootball (soccer) themed advertising campaign, dubbed the Galaxy 11 Campaign. The story started with a video about an alien invasion and the recruiting of famous football (soccer) players from all around the globe. More recently a video also detailed the Galaxy 11 Team’s training for an upcoming match against a powerful alien race to determine the fate of the Earth. Now that match has begun.

During the annual Samsung Developers Conference, the company took the wraps off two new Windows laptops: the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex and the Galaxy Book Ion. The Flex is a convertible laptop with a 360-degree hinge which turns it into a tablet, while the Ion is a traditional clamshell design. Both laptops are pretty powerful, with the latest tenth-generation Intel processors, Wi-Fi 6 support, QLED displays, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal solid-state storage.

Samsung’s CES 2020 press conference was more about human-centered tech than devices that would actually make it to market. The company talked a lot about IoT, smart cities, 5G, and personal care solutions. Amongst them was Samsung’s new personal robot, Ballie (pronounced Ball-E). Ballie is a spherical rolling robot that would remind you of Sphero’s BB-8 Star Wars droid. Samsung calls it, “a human-centric vision of robots that takes personalized care to the next level.

Update, February 21, 2020 (02:55 PM ET): This whole SlickWraps thing just got more intense. First, Lynx’s Twitter account was temporarily suspended (it’s back now though). However, the Medium blog post that details all the information about the hack has been removed. Then, the CEO of SlickWraps posted a response to the breach (via Kellen from Droid-Life). The message, which you can read here, is deeply apologetic. However, it’s strange because it not only came from one of the hacked email accounts but also is dated in the future — the date February 22 is cited numerous times in the letter.

Previously there were reports that the miniature version of the Sony Xperia Z1 would arrive under the name Xperia Z1s. As it turns out, the mini Z1 is debuting under the nameSony Xperia Z1 Compact. As for Xperia Z1s, this phone is actually a T-Mobile exclusive. The Xperia Z1s is essentially the same as the standard Xperia Z1, though it changes the aesthetics a little and features T-Mobile compatible 4G LTE support.
