Update, November 26, 2019 (5:52AM ET): Oppo has now announced ColorOS 7 globally. We’ve updated the original article with information about some additional new features and a more specific rollout timeline for Oppo and Realme devices.
Original Article, November 21, 2019 (6PM ET): Oppo released ColorOS 6 earlier this year. It featured a few useful tweaks and a refreshing new coat of paint. Now, the company has unveiled the next iteration of its Android skin — Oppo ColorOS 7.
Much was made about Paranoid Android’s 7.2.0 release, and with good reason – it brought numerous features and bug fixes, along with support for various smartphones. As such, the popular Android ROM’s 7.2.1 update might be seen as meager from the outside, though it is still relatively substantial.
The highlight of the 7.2.1 release is the official support for the Nexus 5 (hammerhead), Sony Xperia X (suzu), and the Sony Xperia X Compact (kugo).
If you’re looking for wallpapers that cleverly disguise the Galaxy S10’s punch hole display, Samsung announced this past Friday a handful of new Disney and Pixar wallpapers.
The wallpapers feature characters from Frozen, The Incredibles, Zootopia, and the Mickey Mouse animated TV show. All of them incorporate the punch hole in some way, with the Mickey Mouse wallpaper hiding it in the famous mouse’s left ear. Olaf turns the punch hole into one of his buttons.
We’ve seen numerous foldable phone designs in recent months, with the big-name players offering interesting takes on the formula. Now, it seems Sony may be hard at work on a drastically different device.
According to tech tipster Max J. on Twitter, Sony is working on a rival to Samsung and Huawei’s devices, featuring a so-called Nautilus Design. The leaker attached a GIF from a 2016 video, showing a screen that rolls up akin to a scroll.
Most mobile gamers know about Hearthstone. It’s one of the most popular card dueling games of all time. It also helped kickstart the trend on mobile phones. People who like the fantasy card dueling style definitely have more options than ever before. Here are the best card dueling options for Android.
Update, December 6 2018 (02:59AM): We got word yesterday that Google would be killing off Allo, and now the search colossus has confirmed the news on its official blog.
Google said it “paused” investment in the IM app earlier this year, choosing to bring several Allo features (e.g. Smart Reply and desktop support) to the Messages app instead.

“Given Messages’ continued momentum, we’ve decided to stop supporting Allo to focus on Messages,” the company added.
Imagine you’re not a millionaire (hard to fathom, I know). You save up all your pennies and work very hard to put together $1,400 so you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. You plug it in to charge it up but you notice something’s wrong: the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra charger that came in the box isn’t charging the phone as fast as you know it should.

As one would expect, this is a phased rollout, so don’t get too upset if you don’t see the update right this second. Just to be sure, you can go to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually and do a manual check.

A color-changing smartphone is in development, according to new leaks. The phone uses electrochromic glass to change the device’s colorway seemingly on demand. Vivo has subsequently confirmed it’s working on this tech. Update: September 3 2020 (5:40 AM ET): We saw two videos showing a color-changing smartphone a short while ago (view article below), and we suspected that Vivo was behind the technology. Now, the BBK-affiliated company has confirmed that it’s indeed working on this.

According to Down Detector, Fitbit is down for most people right now. The outage prevents your app from successfully connecting to Fitbit’s servers, which renders it mostly useless. It’s not clear how long the outage will last, but hopefully, it’s resolved soon. If you opened your Fitbit app this morning to check your sleep stats, you may have found that the app didn’t boot up correctly.
