Wallpapers are one of the easiest ways to customize your smartphone, as you can choose from pre-loaded wallpapers, live wallpapers, and photos from your gallery or the web. In fact, some of the most popular articles on Android Authority are usually about downloading official wallpapers. This did make us think about how often readers change their wallpapers. Are you constantly changing your wallpaper every few days? Or maybe you haven’t changed your background since getting your phone?

With OxygenOS 5.0.3, the OnePlus 3/3T gets in on the face unlock fun

TL;DR OnePlus released OxygenOS 5.0.3 for the OnePlus 3/3T. The update includes Face Unlock, the latest security patch, and more. You can either wait for the OTA to hit your device or manually flash the update. The highlight feature is Face Unlock, which debuted on the OnePlus 5T last year. You can also find Face Unlock on the OnePlus 5 and newer OnePlus 6, though it is a nice surprise to see it on the OnePlus 3/3T.

End of Oxygen OS and what we know so far

Robert Triggs / Android Authority Over the past two years, there have been a lot of changes for OnePlus. Co-founder Carl Pei left to start his own company called Nothing. The Nord line expanded to include several super-budget OnePlus phones for the US that were essentially re-branded Oppo phones. And, earlier this year, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced that OnePlus would “further integrate” with its larger BBK stablemate, Oppo. Android Authority and other tech outlets recently had a chance to sit down with Lau and hear about what’s happening for OnePlus in the future.

first Android Wear watch with cellular connectivity

Tonight LG officially took the wraps off its latest hero device, the LG V10. That wasn’t the only announcement that LG had for us though, as they have also revealed their latest Android Wear smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. The new LG Watch Urbane sports a similar design to the original, albeit with a more refined look this time around. Cosmetics aside, the biggest difference is under the hood, as the Urbane 2 is the first Android Wear device to feature cellular connectivity.

Fourth Android 9 Pie beta available now for Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Update, February 12, 2019 (12:59 PM ET): If you are currently in the One UI beta program on your Samsung Galaxy Note 8, you should soon see a new update come your way (via SamMobile). The Android 9 Pie update will be the fourth beta update for the Note 8. The update weighs 578MB and carries version number N950FXXU5ZSB2. The changelog is fairly small, with the biggest update being a fix for a problem with editing hotspot names.

Update, October 30, 2018 (4:19PM EST): Google’s Minis stickers are rolling out to Gboard on Android and iOS. The stickers are rolling out in all Gboard languages and countries. Google "working on a fix" for longstanding Pixel 2 camera crash bug

TL;DR Google has said it is working to address a Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL camera bug that has been with the phones since launch. The “fatal camera error” message sometimes appears when the user launches the Pixel 2 camera app or tries to snap a picture. Google made the comments on Twitter last weekend. Google has acknowledged a camera issue that has affected Pixel 2 devices since launch. Responding to a question on Twitter last weekend, Google said it was aware of the “fatal camera error” bug and “working on a fix.

Google Earth 7.0 brings 3D maps, Maps update brings offline maps

Google sure did announce a lot of new things yesterday, but it was slightly interesting to see the entire audience at the I/O Keynote yesterday enthusiastically cheering for one of the few things that weren’t entirely surprising: an update to Google Earth (now at version 7.0) that brings 3D mapping capabilities, as well as an update to Google Maps that brings the ability to download maps for offline use.Google had already announced these features a few weeks ago at a Maps-centric event, but it’s always nice to see promised stuff actually becoming available for us, the end-users.
