Sony thinks it's okay to advertise a $1,800 flagship on a $1,300 phone

Robert Triggs / Android Authority TL;DR Sony is sending ads via push notifications to Xperia owners. The ad promotes the new Xperia Pro-I smartphone. The topic of system ads on smartphones has come up numerous times before, as the likes of Realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung have all offered this in a bid to make more money. Samsung has since announced that it’s disabling system ads on its phones, but it looks like Sony is ready to step in.

Sony Xperia Z5 showcased in "Made for Bond" promo

Update, September 15: Sony is eager to capitalize on the full marketing potential of the Bond machine. Hence, it should be no surprise that a Bond-themed version of the Xperia Z5 is coming soon. UK carrier Vodafone has secured exclusive rights for the Bond Edition of Sony Xperia Z5. Unfortunately, the Bond-themed Xperia Z5 isn’t that different from the regular edition. Speed Test G: Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Note 20 Ultra (a clear winner)

Now that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is available, there’s an obvious question to ask: how does its performance fare against Samsung’s previous flagship, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra? Gary Sims has conducted a realistic speed test of the Snapdragon versions of the S21 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra to find out, and one Galaxy emerged the clear victor. This was ultimately a way to gauge the Snapdragon 888’s prowess. The Galaxy S21 Ultra won every speed test by a significant (though not cavernous) margin, completing each benchmark a few seconds faster than the Snapdragon 865 Plus-based Note 20 Ultra.
