The new Google Photos app is a great way to keep all of your pictures and videos backed up to the cloud. Not only does the service offer up tons of new features and improvements over Google’s previous Photos application, the company is also letting you back up all of your photos and videos for free. Although there are a few caveats that come with the term ‘unlimited storage’ in this case, Google is still providing a great way for users to easily store important media in the cloud.

Google Japan has hinted at three potential Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL colorways. Black, white, and turquoise variants are all teased. Only the turquoise model is technically new as we’ve already seen the other two in previous leaks. Unfortunately, it seems like the available colorways for Google’s third-gen flagships won’t be among those surprises, as a teaser page from Google Japan (via 9to5Google), which is still live at time of writing, has shown off three potential color variants for the upcoming Pixel range.
There are plenty of big announcements still coming at MWC, with companies like Samsung and LG sure to make a big splash in the smartphone market. But those aren’t the only phones worth paying attention to. Google recently promised that we’d see Android Go phones at MWC 2018, and Alcatel is the first one to announce one at the trade show. Not only that, Alcatel knows high-end phones aren’t for everybody, which is why the company has announced five new phones in total, all offering solid specs without breaking the bank.
Face Unlock and Android Beam are two of the new features of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But, for Android phones running Android 2.3.6 and higher, you can still enjoy the face unlocking feature from Android 4.0 ICS via the FaceLock app.
Created by SmartApps Mobile, the FaceLock app allows you to use your face as a key to unlock and access your non-ICS Android phone. What’s more is that you don’t need a front camera to use this app.
Update (12/6): Moto Z owners -- we've got some good news! The new Incipio Vehicle Dock and mophie juice pack Moto Mods are now available for purchase. Incipio's Vehicle Dock Moto Mod can be yours for $64.99 from Verizon, while the 3,000mAh mophie juice pack Moto Mod is available for $79.99. Interested? Follow the links below to grab yours today.
Original post (12/1): The lineup of modular Moto Mods for the Moto Z family of smartphones continues.
Because the 5G Moto Mod only works with Verizon’s 5G network, so only the Moto Z2 Force on Verizon is compatible. Also, Verizon’s 5G network is nascent and is only available in two cities across the U.S. as of this writing. Verizon will expand its 5G network to more cities over time, but we don’t know how fast or slow that rollout is.
We also don’t know how many Moto Z2 Force owners will jump at this, seeing how the phone is almost two years old.
Looking to buy a powerful phone but don’t want to break the bank? Grabbing a previous-generation handset is always a good option. These are often more than capable of handling all your tasks, but have been heavily discounted thanks to their successors’ very existence.
Take the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an example. This phone is very powerful, but it going for only $333.99 on Amazon. Not convinced with that price? Daily Steals has an even better deal for you.

Steam Link for Galaxy is the same as the regular Steam Link Android app, but slightly tweaked. The two major changes are the app requiring you to connect a Bluetooth controller and some UI enhancements. Steam Link for Galaxy is available for all Samsung flagships released after the Galaxy S7 (except for the Note 7). Back in May, Valve released the beta version of the Steam Link app for Android, which enables you to stream Steam games to your Android device (check out our in-depth review here).
One of the ways to protect your smartphone from the prying eyes of others is to set a secure lockscreen; be it with the PIN, pattern, or password lock. But then again, they might not be good enough if you own a Samsung handset running Android 4.1.2, or in this particular case, the Galaxy Note 2.
Terrence Eden has opened our eyes last week about the security flaw on the Note 2 that allows well-informed individuals to bypass the phone’s lockscreen.
Sony Xperia XZ PremiumThe Sony Xperia XZ Premium goes all in with features that the company dabbled in with recent offerings, making it a worthy consideration for anyone that is willing to overlook the lack of a fingerprint reader and basically non-existent carrier availability in the States.

It’s been a while since I’ve used an Xperia phone. While Lanh has done a great job reviewing them in the last year or so, I have had the pleasure of using the Xperia XZ Premium for the last couple of weeks.
