Some methodical digging around in some kernel sources has revealed that Qualcomm has developed a new 2.1 version of its contentious Snapdragon 810 mobile SoC. Throwing further fuel on the speculative fire that something is not quite right with Qualcomm’s flagship processor.
If you’re not familiar with the saga by now, the gist of the story is that various industry sources, observers, and tests have suggested that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 runs too hot and/or throttles its peak speeds under heavy loads.
It’s taken Poco two years since the launch of the original Poco F1 to come up with a fresh new design. Amidst widespread criticism for cribbing Xiaomi designs for the Poco X2 and the Poco M2 Pro, the sub-brand has finally come up with a smartphone that is uniquely Poco — the Poco X3.
The Poco X3 was announced earlier this month and is available in Europe as the Poco X3 NFC.
After several delays, the Mate X was launched in China last month. The phone is more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Fold, but despite its higher price tag, the Mate X may have beaten the Galaxy Fold to become the fastest selling foldable phone in its home market.
In comparison, the Galaxy Fold apparently sold out in the first five minutes of going on sale in China. It’s believed that Samsung had roughly 20,000 units on offer in China as part of the first wave of sales.

If you’re a pro photographer, you probably have a whole slew of professional DSLR lenses in your gear bag, but amateurs (and pros looking to travel light) can get a lot out of these snap-on pieces of glass. The newest lens in the line is the Moment Fisheye 14mm.
As one would expect, the new lens creates a distorted effect by increasing your smartphone camera’s field-of-view to an insane degree (170 degrees, to be exact).

At IFA 2016, Sony announced two new additions to its Xperia X series: the Xperia XZ and the latest compact model, the Xperia X Compact. The Xperia X Compact is essentially a smaller version of the Xperia XZ, although it hasn’t exactly followed the same flagship-specs-in-a-compact-body recipe Sony employed with previous compacts. Some of the high-end features are there, but others are not. Check out our Sony Xperia X Compact hands on for our first impressions.
