The Korean manufacturer highlighted in the press release the performance improvements that the new Exynos 5 Octa offers over the model that was first introduced in January, and especially the graphics prowess of the ARM Mali powered chip.
Folks at Engadget visited the SIGGRAPH 2013 trade show where they got the chance to compare a 10-inch reference tablet powered by the new Exynos 5420 chip with the Nexus 10, powered by a dual-core Exynos 5 Dual processor codenamed 5250.

High refresh rate screens first came to smartphones back in 2017, when the first Razer Phone was released. Back then, Razer was offering a 120Hz IGZO LCD panel for a much smoother experience when swiping through menus or in supported games.
Fast-forward to 2021 and it seems like almost every flagship smartphone (and even many mid-rangers) offer high refresh rate displays. It’s not uncommon to see phones packing 90Hz, 120Hz, and even 144Hz screens as a result.
Starting with the Pocophone F1 (or the Poco F1, as it is known in some parts), Xiaomi’s new sub-brand outprices every other Snapdragon 845 phone on the market. But, when you consider the full package and what you get, is it actually better value for money? That is a tough question, but you can found out in our Pocophone F1 review.
The longtime hero of those seeking flagship-like specs without the high price tag has been OnePlus.
One thing Google is good at is predicting what type of information users might be interested in reading and learning more about. One way the company tries to deliver this content is through the Google Feed found within the Google app and through a side panel in the Pixel Launcher. But despite a rebranding of this section just a year ago away from the Google Now name, it appears that the search giant is looking to shake things up again and possibly rename the Google Feed to “Discover” (via XDA-Developers).
At this point, the Saygus V2 is more convincing as an urban legend than an actual smartphone. 2015 was supposed to be the year when everyone could get their hands on the V2, when Saygus made every power user’s dream come true. Fast forward two years, and that has yet to happen. That could finally change soon, thanks to the phone swinging by the FCC for some photo shoots and the agency’s blessing.

Recent smartphone shipment reports suggest Xiaomi had a strong first quarter in 2018. Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A said to be the best selling Android smartphone in March — the first time a Xiaomi phone has achieved the feat. Xiaomi also became the third biggest smartphone vendor in Spain in Q1 2018, according to Canalys. Research firms Counterpoint Research and Canalys have released smartphone shipment reports for earlier in 2018, and both highlight significant achievements for Chinese firm Xiaomi.
The original Monster Hunter Stories was a bit divisive when it first came out for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 (2017 outside of Japan). The game deviated a lot from the previous installments in the Monster Hunter series by primarily being an RPG-style adventure.
However, despite its deviation from the main series’ gameplay, Monster Hunter Stories is a much-loved title, most likely because of its uniqueness. Now, Monster Hunter Stories is available on Android for the first time ever in a faithful port of the 3DS version.
Google’s first smart speaker, the Home, was released in 2016. At launch, many people were disappointed with the capabilities of the Google Home vs Amazon Echo. The original Echo had already been on the market for almost two years, giving Amazon a headstart.
Google has since made a huge number of improvements, including hands-free calling, ever-growing smart home control, and visual interfaces on smart displays. Things have changed so much that the only place you’ll see the Home name now is in a mobile app.
The boot animation and live wallpaper for the Google Play edition phones (also known as Galaxy S4 and HTC One Nexus experiences smartphones) can be downloaded and installed on other devices.
Now the boot animation and live wallpaper can be installed, with the latter being the easiest one to get. Called SunBeam, the new wallpaper is a variation of the PhaseBeam wallpaper on the Nexus 4.
The boot animation requires a more complex effort, including rooting your device.
I had been waiting patiently for the day this job would give me a genuine opportunity to include the YouTube clip you’ll find below and I’m so happy I could whistle (unfortunately, I’m in a shared apartment and my roommates hate whistlers, so I haven’t whistled yet). You can enjoy that soon but first, here’s the news.
Capcom’s 1985 arcade game Ghosts ’n Goblins, which has since been ported to many other consoles, has now arrived on Android.
