Update, April 15 2020 (1:45AM ET): Oppo launched the Ace 2 earlier this week, delivering a fast charging flagship phone for just under ~$600. Between 65W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, you should be topped up in no time. Now, Oppo has told Android Authority that there are no plans to launch the device outside China. That’s a little disappointing, as it’s one of the cheaper Snapdragon 865 phones.

This week in Apple news we found out about some rumored RAM variants that could appear in the flagship iPhone 12 lineup this Fall. For the first time, there could be iPhones with 6GB of RAM. However, not all iPhone 12 models are likely to get that much. Elsewhere, we heard some rumors related to an iPad Pro with 5G support, Apple messing with its trade-in program, Mac shipment numbers heading in the wrong direction, and the US government stepping in to ask Apple about breaking its own encryption (again).

I think we can all agree that losing internet connection during a Google search is quite annoying. Especially in this day and age when people don’t have a lot of patience and want to get the information they need as soon as possible. Motorola has launched the Edge 30, the latest addition to its Edge family of smartphones, and it promises to be the thinnest 5G smartphone on the market. The Edge 30 is Motorola’s successor to the Edge 20, a device designed primarily for the international market.

ARM has unveiled two new members of its Mali family of GPUs. The new units are the Mali-T720 and Mali-T760. The T720 is a mid-range GPU and is seen as the successor to the very popular Mali-400 MP and 450 MP GPUs, while the Mali-T760 is ARM’s new flagship GPU and boasts a 400% increase in energy efficiency when compared to the Mali-T604. At the moment around 50 percent of all Android tablets use SoCs with Mali GPUs which makes this new announcement by ARM significant in terms of the graphic processing power of tablets in the future.
