This is good news for those that want to take advantage of the Galaxy S10 phones’ Dynamic OLED displays, which are the first smartphone displays to support HDR10+. Whereas HDR10 features a set metadata channel, HDR10+ features a dynamic metadata channel with a variable midpoint of the dynamic range. But there are also a select few devices that came tantalizingly close to actually being released before being canceled at the prototype stage. An expandable external storage is really an advantage if you need more storage space on your Android phone or tablet. However, having both internal and external storage can be a problem, as well, since some Android apps are not programmed to read data on external SD cards.  Rather, such apps treat the internal storage as also the external storage; thus, such apps are unable to access the files you’ve stored on your external microSD card.

TL;DR The Motorola Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play are now available to buy in the U.S. The vanilla Moto E5 however, is not. Pricing and naming for the two available devices are erratic across carriers. Earlier this month, we posted an article detailing the pricing and country launches of several Motorola devices. The information presented was confusing, to say the least. Certain phones are only launching in certain countries, and many of the price points were in foreign currency or not available.

Universal Flash Storage (UFS) memory cards appear to be on the way, promising faster memory speeds to keep up with ever faster smartphones. Samsung recently announced some details about its first UFS memory cards, and there will be plenty of other manufacturers coming forth with their own models based on the JEDEC Universal Flash Storage 1.0 Card Extension standard over the next year or so. We’ve actually heard a fair bit about UFS memory in the past, as it’s also looking to replace the eMMC memory modules used for the main storage inside smartphones, Chromebooks, and low cost notebooks.

Quarter-over-quarter, Facebook saw one million fewer users visiting the site daily. This news, combined with a lackluster earnings report, saw Meta’s stock drop by nearly 20%. Over the past few years, Facebook has had its fair share of controversies. The Cambridge Analytica scandal was a big one, but the various security breaches were also pretty bad.

No matter where you turn, the Angry Birds probably aren’t too far away. They’re there, whether on your phone, or in the form of plush toys and board games. Heck, they are even on Facebook! Never content to hold still, the birds are now marching onward once more with a new mobile version of their popular Facebook game, Angry Birds Friends. The news of Angry Birds Friends making it over to the mobile world comes hot on the heels of Rovio’s release of its annual 2012 results, which shows $195 million in profit, with more than 45% of that income coming from non-gaming items such as books, toys and tons ofother Rovio merchandise.

The latest Android commercial hit just recently. Foregoing the cartoons and animals, Google shows off a collection of impressive, and sometimes dorky, human interactions, all centered around the high five. In the one minute spot, handshakes and fist bumps are performed with skill, careful planning, a lack of careful planning and even a total lack of skill. All in all, the message remains the same, “Be together. Not the same.”
