TL;DR
The first LG gaming laptop has been announced, as part of the company’s UltraGear series. The laptop will have a big 17.3-inch display with a fast 300Hz refresh rate, along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card. No price has been announced, but it’s expected to go on sale in early 2022 in the US. The LG gaming laptop will be marketed as part of its UltraGear gaming brand, but it doesn’t really have a cool name of its own; only a dull model number (17G90Q).
About 2 years ago, an app called Word Lens launched for the iPhone. It seemed like one of the more technically impressive apps out there and a great demo for what smartphones can do for us these days. Word Lens worked, in a way, similarly to Google Goggles, which you could use to take pictures of text in another language, and then Google’s servers would use OCR to see what’s in the image, and then use the Google Translate engine to translate, in your language of choice.
Android is synonymous with smartphones. It’s the most popular mobile operating system in the world, powering more than 2.5 billion active devices. However, a lot of people don’t know that the OS wasn’t originally designed for phones.
At the economic summit in Tokyo back in 2013, Andy Rubin — the co-founder of Android — revealed that Android was originally made for digital cameras. The plan was to create a camera platform that would include cloud storage for images and videos.
In an official blog post, Google announced that Chrome 56 for Android devices has been released and should make its way to the Google Play Store over the course of the next week. The new version of the browser brings a few new features to the table that will improve the user experience.
The update adds a new tab page with easy access to downloaded files and saved web pages and allows you to long press an article suggestion to download it to your device for offline use.
The Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL are already great smartphones. While the Pixel 3 gives users the best possible premium Google experience, the Pixel 3a devices offer a similar, budget-friendly alternative. And now, all three devices just got even better thanks to some big price-drops.
The Just Black and Clearly White variants of the standard Pixel 3 see a whopping $400 discount at Rakuten. The device is already on sale for $340 off, but with the coupon code SAVE15, the device sees an additional $60 off bringing the price down to $399.
The more powerful the phone, the more things it can do. Unfortunately, the more things a phone can do, the faster its battery will drain. You can’t expect a person to multitask and not get tired, after all. It’s easy to abuse our phones. When you have a powerful processor and a lot of storage space available, it’s pretty hard not to install and use a lot of apps at one time.
The coronavirus outbreak is affecting all of our lives in one way or another. The biggest effect is that many people are now working from home or just stuck at home to stop the spread of the virus. Thankfully, many companies have been offering free access to games and apps to help keep you productive and entertained in these strange times.
