USB-C ports on smartphones are used for a variety of reasons, with the two main uses being charging and connecting to a PC (for data transfer or tinkering). These ports can be used for much more though.
We thought it would be a good idea to ask Android Authority readers whether they use their phones’ USB-C port for more than just charging and connecting to a PC.

ASUS ASUS ZenFone 3 ZoomThe ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom may not be your dream device in terms of optical capabilities, but the camera is pretty good and the phone excels in other areas. Its battery life is hands-down the best we have seen, and the price is nothing to scoff at. Table of contents
Every device has a main selling point, and the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is all about its optical zoom capabilities, something we don’t often find in smartphones.
BLU Vivo 5The BLU Vivo 5 offers by far, the best build design of any phone under $199. From it’s full metal build to it’s thinness and lightweight, the phone feels like it should cost a lot more. Although it isn't perfect, ultimately the BLU Vivo 5 is a fantastic deal for the money.

Over the last year or so we’ve really seen a number of smartphone companies step up their game when it comes to the entry-level and mid-range markets, and BLU, the Florida-based device manufacturer, is no exception to this.
A group of former Samsung engineers is putting their heads together to create new a device called Glamos. It uses LIDAR technology to turn just about any screen into a fully interactive touchscreen.
Well, it functions as a touchscreen of sorts, but you don’t actually have to touch anything to interact with it. Instead, Glamos detects motion and sends a signal to the device telling it what to do.
This creates a situation where a user can control a laptop, smart TV, smartphone, or tablet without actually needing to put their hands on anything but the air within a 180-degree area.
In case you want to be surprised on October 29 by Google’s announcements, then you can forget everything about that. Now that there aren’t any more things to leak about the LG Nexus 4, maybe the worst tech secret in history, the leaks are starring the next Nexus flagship tablet, the Nexus 10.
Now it’s time to look at leaked images that show us how the tablet looks like, but also at screenshots taken on the device.
TL;DR
At SDC 2021, Samsung launched One UI Book 4. Like One UI 4 for Android devices, this version works on Samsung Galaxy laptops. Samsung intends to make the visual experience more cohesive when using its Android or Windows products. At the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) happening right now, we’ve already seen Samsung announce some significant smart home news. Now, though, we have some news related to Samsung’s line of laptops that is pretty unexpected.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini was finally released in the U.S. without much fanfare. If you missed the opportunity of grabbing the S3 Mini at a steal a few days back, don’t feel too bummed out, as you can now purchase the white variant of the phone from a third-party seller on Amazon.
Granted, there’s no price cut to be found on the online retailer’s website. This means you’ll have to cough up $420 for the mini version of the Galaxy S3.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0While both the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 do have their positives, with the great battery life a highlight, the low resolution displays and slower performance make it difficult to justify their relatively high price points when compared to the competition. After staying away from the tablet market for almost a year, Samsung introduced a new budget-friendly tablet series back in March.
