Taiwanese tech company Polytron Technologies has released some information about its prototype transparent smartphone. From the pictures you can see that sadly it’s not entirely transparent, the camera, SD card and some of the electronics are still clearly visible. Even so, it’s not a bad start.
Whilst it’s debatable exactly how useful a transparent smartphone will be (I often misplace my perfectly opaque handset and I’d hate to have to search an almost invisible device), I’m actually quite interested in some of the technologies used in the prototype, mainly the transparent touch screen.
Initially, Snapchat Spectacles were only available for purchase from pop-up vending machines across the US. Then in February, the company started selling them on their own website. Those of you still thinking of buying a pair can now also get them on Amazon.
The price hasn’t changed, which means that Spectacles still retail for $129.99. There are three color options available which are Black, Coral, and Teal.
For those of you unfamiliar with Snapchat Spectacles, they are basically a pair of fashion sunglasses with a built-in camera that lets you record videos up to 30 seconds long and then share them on the social media platform.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the culmination of years of hard work. Every last inch has been upgraded, from the camera array to the S Pen. It’s so refined, in fact, that you may not even want to add a bulky third-party case for protection. Why not turn to Samsung itself for protection? Here are the best official Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra cases you can get.
Sprint and Verizon have rolled out some sumptuous deals on the latest LG flagship, the LG G8 ThinQ. The handset normally starts at $840, but with these offers, you could save some serious cheddar.
SprintSprint’s deal sees you pay $15 per month for the device on a new line with an 18-month lease, plus you can get a $150 gift card thrown in if you buy $75 worth of accessories. You’ll need an approved credit card to get the deal, and a $20 monthly credit will be applied within the first two bills.

The Black Shark Helo gaming phone has been launched by Xiaomi. The new phone is largely similar to the old one, but offers an OLED screen and up to 10GB of RAM. Xiaomi’s latest device has a starting price of roughly $461. Xiaomi‘s Black Shark was one of many gaming phones to arrive in the wake of the Razer Phone‘s release, offering powerful internals, an optional gamepad accessory, and a suitably “loud” design.
If you’re looking for a great, cheap phone, you’re spoiled for choice right now. Even though flagship phones can reach upwards of $1,000, the budget market is booming. New companies are releasing affordable phones every day and established companies like Motorola, Samsung, and Sony are competing too. One of the better budget devices we’ve seen in 2017 is the Moto G5 Plus and it just went on sale at a historically low price.

Chrono Trigger, one of the greatest games of all time, got a very flawed port to Android back in 2012. Slightly updated in 2014, the game just recently got a complete set of updates that fixed a lot of issues. Many flaws remain, and reviewers are longing for a true, 1-to-1 port of the original. Chrono Trigger is one of the greatest video games of all time, for any console, of any genre, in any decade.
Coolpad Dyno
The Coolpad Dyno is for parents, not kids. With no games or fun party tricks, the little ones will ignore it. If you can convince your children to wear it, though, as a parent you will absolutely love it. Table of contents
The Coolpad Dyno kids smartwatch must convince a demanding audience. Parents want to make sure kids can’t access the dark corners of the internet or contact strangers, so giving them a smartphone is not always the best bet.
A benchmark test is a tool that you can use to compare the speed and performance of any given set-up/device. The idea is simple: the program runs a series of complex, arbitrary operations and then measures how long it takes. If the same function takes longer on one device than another, then you can generally conclude that the faster device is the more powerful one. You’ve probably seen benchmark tools used in a number of device reviews, with popular choices on Android being AnTuTu and Geekbench (check out a selection of benchmark tools here).
When placed beside Moto’s greats like the Razr and Atrix series, folks in the US may not be too familiar with the Motoluxe. It’s a shame, because the series does have its charms and is actually quite the looker, if only Moto had bothered to sell it in the country. It’s a different story in China, where the Motoluxe has found its niche. The latest Motoluxe XT685 has just been introduced for the Chinese market.
