Food delivery service DoorDash has confirmed that data of 4.7 million customers, workers, and merchant partners has been compromised.
The breach was made public through an official blog post. DoorDash has established that hackers were able to access physical addresses, order histories, phone numbers as well as hashed, salted passwords of those affected.
The data theft happened on May 4 but it was only detected earlier this month. It took five months for DoorDash to detect the attack and inform users.
ASUS unveiled its ZenFone AR smartphone at CES 2017 earlier, which packs in plenty of impressive features, including a Tango 3D capture camera and Google DayDream virtual reality support. Another noteworthy specification is that the phone is the first to launch with a whopping 8GB RAM. That’s enough memory to match a high performance PC or video games console, so how did we end up here?
Of course, there’s always an incentive for manufacturers to improve their specifications and be the first with something new, especially when it comes to grabbing the headlines.
HTC is continuing to put a lot of time, money, and, well, focus on the still small VR market. Today, it announced the HTC Vive Focus Plus, a new version of its Vive Focus standalone VR headset which will ship with two 6DoF (Six Degrees of Freedom) controllers.
In a blog post, HTC stated the two controllers will each come with a pressure sensitive analog trigger, which should allow for better control and interaction with virtual objects.
Electronic Arts (EA) has just unveiled the action-packed Mass Effect Infiltrator, now available on Google Play. As you might have guessed from the title, the third-person shooter is another game in the Mass Effect franchise, and ties in nicely with the console/PC game Mass Effect 3, which has caused such an uproar earlier this year because of its disappointing ending.
One of the most attractive things about playing ME:Infiltrator is the fact that you can influence the outcome in ME3.

Can’t get enough Star Wars? Good, because it’s everywhere nowadays. Following yesterday’s big Star Wars announcement from Google, Disney has just announced another partnership with Google and Verizon that will bring content from The Force Awakens to virtual reality. Beginning Wednesday, December 2nd, you’ll be able to experience a new virtual reality story based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens through your Google Cardboard headset. Disney says the VR experience will “tie directly into” The Force Awakens’ opening.
When Google finally released the Pixel 4a earlier this month, we declared it the company’s best phone in years. Between its bright camera, solid performance, and fantastic display, the Pixel 4a has a lot going for it. But you might be wondering how much of an upgrade is it over its predecessor, the Pixel 3a. Thankfully, our own Gary Sims has the answer with his latest Speed Test G challenge.
According to Chrome Unboxed, Samsung is preparing to launch a new detachable Chromebook codenamed “Nautilus,” which will come with a stowable stylus.
It’s been almost a year since Samsung announced the Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro. Sporting an aluminium body with a high-resolution touchscreen, the Plus and the Pro redefined what sub-$600 Chromebooks can offer. On top of that, they both came with Samsung’s now-iconic stylus, the S-Pen. Now, the latest report claims that riding the success of those two laptops, Samsung is preparing to launch yet another Chromebook with S-Pen.
In both the smartphones and the tablets market, Samsung is the de facto leader of the Android pack. Moreover, if you count out Amazon, with its Kindle Fire (which does run on Android, but in a heavily modified form), Samsung is the only manufacturer holding up the flag for Android in the tablet market. ASUS is making an impact too, which is likely to be more significant when the MeMo 370T is upon us, but, for now, its market share is still in single-digit territory.
The 3D car audio system doesn’t use speakers, so the cars using it can shed a fair bit of weight.
Adding more entries into their 3D audio portfolio, Sennheiser took the wraps off its collaboration effort with Continental: a fully speakerless 3D car audio system. By using Continental’s Ac2ated Sound system with Sennheiser’s Ambeo platform, the two companies hope to compete in the car audio space as 3D sound gains in popularity.
