OnePlus 6, 5T, and 5 updated with improved Wi-Fi performance and more

The OnePlus 6’s update introduces the most interesting upgrades: it offers better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stability, improved Nightscape performance, and better image processing in general. The OnePlus 6 is also getting an EQ for Bluetooth audio — something OnePlus also rolled out to the 6T in early December. We wish this was the real OnePlus 6T chin, not an altered one for an ad News Further, OnePlus says you’re getting better slow-motion, the December security patches, and other bug fixes and improvements in the OxygenOS update.

Samsung Focus sounds a lot like Blackberry Hub, reportedly coming with the Galaxy Note 6

While it’s looking like BlackBerry might not be in the hardware game for the long haul, one thing that’s for sure is that the Canadian tech company knows how to create solid, functional software. The BlackBerry Hub, which is currently well-showcased by the Priv, serves as a kind of one-stop shop for all of your communications: email, messages, phone calls, social media notifications, etc… For someone who doesn’t like hopping from app to app and enjoys having all their notifications in one spot, it’s an elegant solution.

The Galaxy S10 and LG G8 may avoid notch with full screen display

The LG G7 ThinQ (left) and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus (right). The Samsung Galaxy S10 and LG G8 may house fully bezel-less screens without a display notch, as both companies are said to have found an alternative to the controversial feature. According to Etnews (via TechRadar), Samsung Display and LG Display have developed sound-emitting screens that would remove the requirement of a front-facing speaker. Thus, the cut-out area that supports the speaker — what we’ve come to call the notch — also wouldn’t be necessary.

Top three in-car Bluetooth speakerphones

It’s great to be able to make and receive calls wherever you are, but taking risks when you are driving is stupid. Traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of death in the U.S.  with an average of 88 deaths per day in 2011. Worldwide there are over one million traffic-related deaths every year. According to a recent McKinsey study 35 percent of people polled admitted using their smartphones while driving.

Traditional x86 chip builder AMD to start making ARM processors

In the old days (of like 24 hours ago) companies like Samsung, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments made ARM chips, while Intel and AMD made x86 based CPUs. Simple. Well not any more. AMD have announced that not only will it make x86 based CPUs but it will now make ARM based chips as well.ARM based processors, which tech companies license from the British company ARM Holdings,  are the most widely used 32-bit CPUs around. They can be found in a whole variety of devices including the majority of Android, Apple and Microsoft based smartphones and tablets.

Apple vs Google: A tale of two ecosystems

Apple’s annual WWDC Conference is its time to showcase the next year of its smartphone, tablet, and Mac operating systems. As with everything Apple does, it is always a pretty big deal in the tech world. This year’s event, held back in June, was a historic one — and not just because it was held entirely online. It’s barely been a hot minute since WWDC and already Apple has changed the conversation around tech in more ways than one.

Get Google Assistant on your Nougat device

When Google Allo first premiered, people were actually most impressed – not by the messaging platform’s features, which were lacking – but by the Google Assistant companion that accompanied it. It was the first glimpse we got of an entity that’s slated to reside not only in Allo, but also in Google Home and Pixel devices. But now it appears that any device running Nougat, even if they aren’t #MadeByGoogle, can house the search giant’s affable assistant.

If you loved Hulu's free service, we've got some bad news

Hulu, one of the largest internet TV streaming services, has decided to put an end to its free offering – a component of the service over for about nine years. You’ll now have to pay to use the platform for your beloved TV shows. There’s no word about the two tiers of monthly subscription rates changing, at $7.99 for limited commercials or $11.99 for completely ad-free. According to Hulu’s Senior VP and head of experience, Ben Smith, the reason for the change is because the limited free service falls short of everything the service now provides.

New alleged pic of real-life Samsung Galaxy S10 with punch-hole camera

We’ve learned quite a bit already about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 and have even seen a few renders. Now, though, we have our very first look at what appears to be a real-life image of the Galaxy S10 from trusted smartphone industry leaker @EVLeaks (a.k.a. Evan Blass). According to Blass, the model depicted in the image below is the “Beyond 1” variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10, which essentially means the “vanilla” model.
