As reported by The Verge today, Samsung published a video on YouTube two days ago (seen below) about the Galaxy Note 10’s stainless steel frame. Here’s the problem with that: the frame isn’t made out of stainless steel.
“Stainless steel and glass meld seamlessly to minimize bezel,” said the video’s narrator. According to SamMobile, even Samsung’s website mentions stainless steel for the Galaxy Note 10’s frame. However, Samsung didn’t say a word about the phone’s build materials in any of its press releases or Wednesday’s Unpacked event.

Turing quietly canceled the Appassionato. The partnership with TCL dissolved in September 2017. CEO Syl Chao teased a new batch of implausible devices. Turing has canceled the Appassionato, the latest in a series of phones that the company announced and never delivered.
In an email to Android Authority, Turing Robotic Industries CEO Syl Chao said the Appassionato was scrapped because it didn’t “align with mainstream trends.” Specifically, the $1099 phone lacked a narrow-bezel, 18:9 display and an up-to-date processor (it featured a Snapdragon 821 chip).
As we all know, T-Mobile recently stopped subsidizing phones. This move is a pretty radical departure from the typical business model all carriers promote. Typically, a device is subsidized and a contract is signed, which lowers the upfront cost of the device… but keeps us tied down to carriers for two years or so.
At a conference yesterday, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam praised T-Mobile’s efforts to end subsidies. He mentioned Verizon was very interested in what T-Mobile was doing, and would be watching them closely.
Back in 2013 Google acquired navigation app Waze, keeping it separate from Google Maps, though it utilized some of Waze’s tech to help improve the Map experience. Waze remains an excellent service today, one that Google would do well to further promote. After all, the more people using Waze, the more information users (and Google) have about traffic hazards, blocked roads and other traffic-related data.
With all this in mind, it seems that Waze could see itself pushed onto many more devices right out of the box, as Google has now officially announced that the app is part of Google Mobile Services.

Perhaps the biggest change is that it moved away from unlimited high quality storage, but still dishes out 15GB of free storage for your photo and video backups.

You know how Android repeatedly absorbs good ideas from third-party developers and OEMs into stock Android? Like floating notifications, the kill switch, lockscreen notifications, dark theme, split screen, granular app permissions and power saving modes? Well, it looks like one Android N feature we might be seeing in the near future will borrow an awful lot from Remix OS: freeform windows.
Evidence of the feature was uncovered in the Android N code by Ars Technica and it seems to indicate that Google has plans to step up its multi-window game by offering an “experimental freeform windows” mode in a future release.
