Google’s most successful Pixel to date is getting a sequel in 2020, and today we’re getting a first look.
Leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (known online as OnLeaks) and 91Mobiles just published renders showing the Google Pixel 4a, expected sometime in the next few months.
As with other leaks from Hemmerstoffer, these images are renders built from CAD schematics of the device. Hemmerstoffer has an impressive track record, having published dozens of accurate leaks of high-profile devices over the past few years.
What is Tilt Scroll? Tilt Scroll is a root application that allows you to scroll things on your Android device without actually touching the screen. Think of it like a non-Touchwiz version of Smart Scroll on Samsung phones. It’s currently free in the Google Play Store with an in app purchase that costs $1.79.
The app premise is fairly easy to understand. It allows you to scroll things on your screen without actually touching your phone.
Synthetic benchmark suites do not always reflect real life performance, but they do give us a good idea of the performance of a mobile processor. Until actual production units hit the market, benchmark scores are the best guidance we have.
That’s why I was excited to learn that the new Tegra 4 system-on-a-chip has been put through its paces in a suite of benchmark applications, and the results are nothing short of amazing.
There’s an expectation that any new Android flagship will have the latest and greatest processor inside. Usually, that’s Qualcomm’s top chipset, which is the Snapdragon 865 in 2020. True to form, Samsung has put the Snapdragon 865 in its Galaxy S20 range in the U.S., and some Chinese manufacturers have already followed suit. But, if rumors are to be believed, Google and LG will go with a mid-tier processor this year.
This week in Apple news we saw a lot of problems for the company caused by the coronavirus. You can see the roundup below for all the information, but suffice it to say that Apple’s plans for the next few months are all messed up now — and who knows how this will affect its bottom line.
It wasn’t all about the coronavirus, though. In other Apple news, we saw some more information supporting the rumors surrounding some upcoming over-ear headphones from the company, rumors about as ToF sensor on the iPhone 12, and the launch of a new trailer for a Beastie Boys documentary on Apple TV Plus.
Owners of the Asus Transformer TF300T are in for a special treat as the tablet is finally getting a custom recovery in the form of the TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) Recovery 2.1.5. TWRP Recovery is a custom recovery built from the ground up, is easy to use, and features a lot of customization tools that users can benefit from. Based primarily on the recovery images from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), TWRP Recovery is loaded with all the standard recovery options but with added modifications such as a fully touch-driven interface to navigate instead of the traditional button pushing.
Wireless headphones are awesome. I use mine pretty much every single day. However, it can be tough to know how much battery you have left. Mine have died in my ears a few times because I didn’t know they were low. You can forget this problem with the F9 wireless headphones and power bank case. Right now, they’re only $31 with a promo code.
The F9 headphones pack great specs to stand out among budget buds.
With the imminent release of the 2013 flagship devices, the good news, for anyone not looking to splurge on the “latest and greatest,” is the associated price drops for last year’s high-end smartphones, which are still great devices, and become a lot more affordable. This is certainly the case with HTC. With the imminent release of the HTC One, HTC India slashed the prices of its 2012 offerings, the HTC One X and One X+.
