Google Assistant shopping lists will save in Keep Notes

TL;DR Google quietly announced you will be able to save Google Assistant’s shopping lists in Keep Notes. Google removed the feature early in April 2017 and shifted it to the Home and Express apps. Google Assistant support in Keep Notes will arrive “before you know it.” Even though Google refreshed Keep Notes with a coating of the refreshed Material Design, you still cannot create and store shopping lists in the app with Google Assistant.

New malware tries to infect Android devices via USB cable

Gone are the days when only downloading from Google Play was enough to stay safe. Anti-virus and security company Symantec has released details of a new piece of Windows malware that tries to infect Android devices when they are plugged into a compromised PC.The new malware, called Trojan.Droidpak, installs itself as a system service on a Windows PC and then downloads a malicious banking .apk file. It will also probably download the Android debugging tool ADB.

Samsung lays off many US marketing employees after internal audit

According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Samsung may have found some shady business practices within its own U.S. marketing team. Two thing are for certain, though: the company abruptly laid off many of its marketing employees and the head of marketing, Marc Mathieu, abruptly resigned last week. Reportedly, Samsung ran the internal audit on its own team. Although we don’t know what the results of that audit were, The Wall Street Journal report heavily implies that it could have been related to kickbacks and bribery related to social media influencers, particularly on YouTube.
