Speaking with ETNews, a Samsung Electronics insider has revealed that yields for the camera’s new lens module is currently stuck at around just 20-30 percent. Samsung originally planned to begin production of the 16 million pixel camera module a month ago.

Huawei P8 Lite review

Priced at just $250, the Huawei P8 Lite is a good entrant in the budget-friendly smartphone space, but it does fall short in some key areas when compared to its competition. Quickly becoming one of the most talked about popular categories in the Android world, budget-friendly smartphones have seen an impressive improvement in quality, while also becoming more easily available to consumers in demanding markets like the US. Chinese OEM Huawei has some fantastic devices on offer in other key markets around the world, and now the company is making a play to get a piece of the market in the US.

iPhone users older, richer, better-educated

This is also influenced by demographics, including age, education and earning capacity. In the recently-released 2012 RJI Mobile Media News Consumption Survey, researchers have determined that Apple iPhone users are generally older, better-educated and earn higher than those using Android. This may account for Apple’s market dominance over Android since the beginning. RJI’s Roger Fidler has found that — surprise!

Moto G (2014) review

The Moto G (2014) offers everything that we loved about the original, this time packing a larger display and an updated camera package, while keeping the same unbeatable price tag. If you’re in the market for a good, budget-friendly smartphone, the Moto G (2014) is one of the best mid-range smartphones you can buy. As good as the original Moto X was when it released last year, Motorola really shook up the smartphone market with its mid-range offering, the Moto G.

Not a fan of the Messenger app? Tough! Facebook appears to be making it mandatory

At a glance, it appears to be the kind of message that you can just ignore. The friendly reminder says “Your conversations are moving to Messenger,” with an explanation that soon the app will be required if you want to keep chatting with your friends. Many users are discovering that by “soon,” Facebook means, “within the next few seconds,” because although dismissing the alert brings you back to your list of conversations, tapping any one of them will take you to Messenger in the Google Play Store.

Samsung Tizen phone may feature the Super AMOLED HD Plus display

We’ve all seen the power of the rumor mill, with the crazy speculation whirlwind that preceded the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S3. While some of the pre-launch gossip was spot on (Exynos 4412 quad-core processor), some was, as expected, way off-base (2GB RAM). One rumor that had us all excited was the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would feature a Super AMOLED HD Plus display using the RGB matrix. With this type of display almost ready for production, our expectations weren’t unrealistic, but unfortunately, the final launch left display-fanatics quite disappointed.

Sprint announces plan to add FM tuners to select mobile devices

Do you wish that your current smartphone had FM tuner support? If your carrier is Sprint, we have some good news. Sprint has announced it will be bringing NextRadio FM tuners to select Android and Windows Phone devices later this year. This probably won’t appeal to everyone, as many of us are perfectly content with using online radio or locally/cloud stored music instead. Still, for those with limited data or storage space, this could certainly be a welcome feature.
