Motorola has been the king of the budget space ever since the original Moto G, but how do things look heading into 2018? Over the last few years a number of companies have attempted to steal the crown, including Honor. With the arrival of the Honor 7X, the budget market may finally have a new king.
Probably the most direct competitor to the Honor 7X would be the Moto G5 Plus, as both phones hover right around the $200 mark.
The holiday season is full of joy and sharing, but it’s also one of the most stressful times of the year. Worry not! That nifty little computer in your pocket could make everything so much better.
The HTC One isn’t just another flagship phone, it represents the last bastion of hope for a company that wishes to rebuild its lost empire. So far the HTC has certainly provided a much-needed boost to HTC’s reputation thanks to its sexy, well-built design. Unfortunately, it has also yet to launch on America’s biggest cellular network. We knew Google and Amazon listen to their users through their voice-activated Echo and Home smart speakers. However, a group of security researchers have now demonstrated how third-party apps can easily eavesdrop on users and voice-phish sensitive information like passwords.
Researchers at Germany’s SRLabs found two hacking scenarios — eavesdropping and phishing — for both Amazon Alexa and Google Home/Nest devices. They created eight voice apps (Skills for Alexa and Actions for Google Home) to demonstrate the hacks that turns these smart speakers into smart spies.

Compared with everyone else out there that’s shipping Android smartphones and tablets, Amazon is a unique Android device maker, as the online retailer took an entirely different approach when creating the Kindle Fire. Instead of only customizing the user interface of the Kindle Fire Android OS version, like most companies do with their products, Amazon went a step further and built its own Android-based OS, that’s independent from Google.
In the process, Amazon went ahead and removed Google’s online services from the Kindle Fire’s OS including the Google Play app store – Android Market as it was called back then.

No, it turns out that there’s a new music track available in AutoRap.
Hands up if you’re sick of useless push notifications. I’m going to assume that the majority of you raised your hands, or at least thought about it and then decided it would be pointless because I can’t see you anyway.

A new Google Gboard update is rolling out right now, bringing with it a few new features. One of them isn’t in the changelog but is particularly nice: a color-matching nav bar which changes depending on your Gboard theme.
On previous versions of Gboard, your Android nav bar would be one of two colors: black or white. If your Gboard theme is very colorful, it didn’t look quite right to have the nav bar stand out so much.
