Google Feed has undergone a series of changes over the past few months, some good, some incredibly concerning. The latest change definitely falls into the former camp with the addition of unique topic-specific feeds.
The updated Feed, which appears to be rolling out globally (via 9to5Google), now handily groups together related articles under dedicated categories. Tapping the topic will now bring up a separate feed that brings together posts from around the net related to that particular category.

In Google Messages, iMessage reactions from iPhones come in as text messages. A future update to Messages could fix this annoying incompatibility. It’s not known how this will exactly work, but we expect Emoji reactions to come in place of “Liked an image” text. Because of this, iPhone users who use the reactions feature within iMessage end up sending full-length text messages to Android users. In Google Messages and most other Android SMS apps, these messages come in as “Liked…” or “Loved…” with the continuing text being the what’s being reacted to.
Google Play Music is finally receiving a new makeover today, which brings major changes not only to the app’s user interface but also to how search results and recommendations are discovered. Google has announced that this update will arrive for Play Music on Android, iOS, and the web.
Much of the upgrade is based around Google’s new machine learning technology that it is rolling out to the platform. The algorithms not only figure out what music you like, but can also combine this with data like your location, current activity, and even the weather, to create personalized music playback.
Android owners who have seen some poorly created, but still high ranking, apps in the Google Play Store might be seeing less of them in the near future. The company says it will be cracking down on Play Store apps that try to deliberately scam customers to download them through various means.

In a blog post, Google stated that while the company tries to maintain a high amount of quality on the Play Store in terms of app content discovery, they have noticed that a few publishers have tried to “game” the store.
Google has done a pretty good job of rolling useful features into each new Android version, but there are times when it seems to lag behind. Stock Android is an excellent platform now and it’s becoming harder for OEMs to add a great deal of value with their UIs, but there are still standard inclusions that everyone agrees are desirable that are missing from Android, and a split screen option is one of them.

The Huawei P20 Pro has been subjected to a series of stress tests on the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel. The device survives the treatment like many of its competitors, until the bend test, where the display cracks. This rarely happens during these tests on the channel, though they don’t necessarily represent real-world scenarios. The Huawei P20 Pro has been put through its paces in the latest durability test from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.
The LG V20 has been officially unveiled, and we had the opportunity to go hands-on with this Nougat-powered flagship to see just how LG handled the device’s software design.
You heard that right. The LG V20 runs Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, making it the first phone to ship with Nougat, even ahead of Google’s upcoming Pixel phones. That said, you won’t feel much of a difference on the surface, because LG has their in-house UI running over the top, and they haven’t changed too much here.
Nook in-app purchases are coming, and they’re coming soon. According to a press release Barnes & Noble has sent out, thousands of games and apps that use in-app purchasing will be available “in the coming weeks and months,” and this will happen on tablets including the Nook HD and Nook HD+.
The partner Nook has decided to choose for its in-app purchasing efforts is Fortumo and, since the mobile payments provider is working in no less than 73 countries, this should open quite a few doors for the Barnes & Noble tablets and bring Nook users a lot of interesting new apps.

The company saw a 388% surge in sales and a 286% rise in overall revenue in Q1 2021 compared to Q1 2020 in the EU. A company rep told Android Authority that it is confident the ongoing global chip shortage won’t affect it. When it comes to sales figures and other bits of hard data, OnePlus is usually very secretive.
