This week, AT&T made a number of different statements about how ready their network was for future data use by customers. In one speech, the CEO of AT&T, Ralph de la Vega, proudly proclaimed that AT&T had a large lead in the connected car market. By some estimates, AT&T will own over 50 percent of the growing market during 2015.
AT&T is so confident of their network that Chris Penrose, senior vice president of AT&T’s Emerging Devices business, discussed AT&T’s effort to “future-proof against the coming influx of connected vehicles.
A question that I’m asked quite often is, which handset is best for network, especially for people who live in areas with spotty coverage (at best). For several years, this has been relatively easy to answer as Samsung’s flagships usually had better coverage and signal strength than its rivals but as we covered earlier this year, the change in build on the Galaxy S6 resulted in Samsung slipping down the list.
Best Buy on Thursday revealed that it will be launching an exclusive blue Samsung Galaxy S4 model, starting with November 14.
The Blue Arctic model will be available online, but also in the Samsung Experience Shops located in “more than 1,400 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores.” The device will come in various carrier versions including AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless, and pre-orders will also be available:

If you were lucky enough to get an HP TouchPad this time last year during their “fire sale” for $99 (16GB) or the $149 (32GB) your Android luck hasn’t run out yet. Remember, Android first came to the HP TouchPad via CM7, Gingerbread. A few months later, Android 4.0 came to the HP TouchPad, bringing a true tablet UI to the 10″ popular slate. The CyanogenMod development community continues to grace the HP TouchPad, this time with Android 4.
This is potentially devastating news for a major flagship release. Most of Huawei’s key markets outside of China are familiar with Google’s storefront and think third-party stores aren’t as trustworthy. Huawei is banking on winning app developers over to its side, but it’s not clear if the company can take consumers with it.

Recap: Why Huawei can’t use Google apps As part of the US government’s ongoing trade sanctions against Huawei, the company cannot sign deals for hardware products or services created by US companies.
The idea of a modular phone has beenfloating around for a few years now, but in more recent times we’ve seen a couple manufacturers attempt to bring the tech to their flagship phones. Most notably, LG and Motorola.
The LG G5 was the first commercial phone to offer a modular design. Unfortunately, LG didn’t do the best job of supporting the standard and, afterjust two mods, pretty much ended the concept.
Sony on Friday announced that its new PlayStation App for Android will be launched in mid-November in certain markets, just in time for the PlayStation 4 arrival, its brand new gaming console.
The app will be available as a free download from the Google Play Store starting with November 13 (North America) and November 22 (Europe), or just a few days ahead of the respective PlayStation 4 launch dates for these regions.
TL;DR
Information just leaked from Samsung itself, giving us the details on the Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus. The Galaxy A6 looks to be a basic low-to-mid-range device, while the Galaxy A6 Plus seems like a more robust phone for its speculated price. No release date is yet known, but both devices will likely land in May. A month ago, we got wind that the Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus was coming soon through a support page showing up on Samsung’s Poland portal.
Update (01/30): The Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 have been up for pre-order for a couple of weeks already, but we've now got some further details on their general release.
