Update, March 3, 2019 (11:51PM): KaiOS representatives have clarified the technical underpinnings of the feature-phone platform. The company told us that it doesn’t have an Android base, but uses the Android kernel.
KaiOS is derived from the FireFoxOS platform, the company (and Android Authority) previously noted. The Mozilla-owned platform was discontinued in 2015, after two years on the market.

Original post, December 31: Square Enix has been working to bring just about every Final Fantasy game to mobile devices for the past couple years, and it has just announced its next re-release that’s coming to mobile. Final Fantasy IX, one of the best Final Fantasy games of all time, is coming to Android, iOS and PC sometime in 2016.
Despite being two diligently different companies, both HTC and BlackBerry share some surprising similarities: (1) both are established players in the mobile game, (2) both have found their fortunes are no longer the same, and (3) both have released new flagship hardware this month. In the case of HTC, the contentious One A9 is being offered, and in the case of BlackBerry, we have the Priv, nee Venice.
To be sure, both devices are solid pieces of hardware, with the Priv occupying the high-end spec segment and the A9 going for more middle-ground.
AT&T ignited a storm of controversy several weeks ago after it started rolling out fake 5G icons to select Android smartphones on its network. Now it would appear that the carrier is pushing its faux 5G network indicator to iPhones as well.
According to MacRumors, some users who have the iOS 12.2 beta two update on their iPhones are receiving the fake 5G logo. The U.S. carrier subsequently confirmed the roll-out to the publication.
