Google launched the long-awaited Pixel 4a just a few days back and also surprisingly confirmed that the more premium Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G would follow. Now it seems that Google France may have accidentally revealed the date for the launch of the two new Pixels.
A 9to5Google reader from France recently discovered that the official Google blog post for the launch of the Pixel 4a also mentioned the pre-order date for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.
LG Display recorded some excellent financial number to close out 2016. The company announced it had record-breaking operating profits of 904.3 billion won ($778 million) for the fourth quarter of 2016. That’s a huge increase compared to the 61 billion won in operating profit it recorded in the fourth quarter of 2015. This was the 19th straight operating profit quarter for the company.

Verizon has just announced that pre-orders for both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will begin on April 1st. While we now have an official pre-order date, the carrier has yet to mention when the phone will actually become available.
Verizon is one of the first US carriers to reveal any specific dates regarding the handset. Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T (among others) have announced that they’ll eventually carry the devices, but these carriers only allow users to pre-register for them so far.
Remember that completely legitimate Comet Smartphone Kickstarter campaign we told you about a few days ago? As it turns out, Comet Core, the company behind the finned smartphone, has cancelled the funding campaign after it raised upwards of $25K of its $100K goal. Apparently, Comet Core is unable to provide its backers with the Smart Earphones that were originally available in one of the Early Bird packages, due to some sort of violation of Kickstarter’s policies and procedures.

Google’s Pixels punch well above their weight in the photography ring. In our long-term Pixel 4 XL review, we called the camera “astounding,” applauding its ability to extract vivid details from its aging 12.2MP Sony sensor. But this sensor — which has been used since the Pixel 3 — is no longer the pinnacle of camera hardware.
The Pixel 5 employs that same sensor and it shows.

For those unaware, deep learning is basically the name for a type of artificial intelligence that involves training artificial neural networks how to better process certain types of information, which is seen in a number of Google services including Google Translate, Google Photos, and so much more.

Xiaomi is apparently working on a Long Exposure mode. The mode will offer light painting and astrophotography options. This follows in the footsteps of Huawei and Google’s efforts in this regard. Huawei phones have offered a Light Painting mode for years now, dating back to 2015’s Huawei P8 at the very least. It now looks like Xiaomi is eyeing this mode and Google’s astrophotography mode for a feature of its own.
While Alcatel is far from a household name in the smartphone game, it has gained a bit more attention in recent times thanks to some of its affordable yet solid devices like the Idol 4 family. Now Alcatel is back with yet another phone, this time dubbed the Alcatel Pixi 4 Plus Power.
Ridiculous name aside, the Pixi 4 Plus Power has one big trick up its sleeve: a 5000 mAh battery.
